This is a look back on Phil Smith's career. Phil Smith had a game where he did a bit of everything relying on his athleticism first and foremost. Getting to the rim on drives or scoring down low from post ups jumping high out of reach for smaller guards on top of playing stifling defense. While also having a pure shot from outside. Helping him reach a lot of success very early into his NBA career. As by the end of four seasons Smith was two time all-star, 2nd team all-NBA, 2nd team all defense, and an NBA champion. All with the golden state warriors. Seeming to have a very bright future ahead of him before an Achilles injury derailed his career. Shortening it to only 9 years in the league bouncing around in a reduced capacity to end it. Yet at his peak Phil Smith was one of the best players in the entire league.

As a kid I was at the game when Phil got injured against Washington. The arena went silent when he fell to the floor.

Glad to see you uploading for basketball legends of the past. I hope in the future you could make a video about Sam Lacey, Caldwell Jones, Junior Bridgeman and Jamaal Wilkes. Keep it up.

I watched Phil Smith's entire career. Take away the injuries and he was HOF bound. He could score and play D. Unfortunately, fate didn't allow him to fulfill his potential. Still a great player when he wasn't injured
