Check out this extremely rare interview of longtime Philadelphia PA announcer Dave Zinkoff. Anyone attending an NBA game in Philadelphia from 1946 through the 1980s will instantly recognize his distinctive voice and memorable calls, none more so than his famous "Julius Errrrving" call after a dunk by the Doctor! Here Zinkoff is interviewed by Boston-based broadcaster Bob Neumeier. No ownership of this material is claimed.

I loved how he announced timeouts…”The Sixers…call…TIIIIIIIIIIMMMMME”! I think of Zink each time I hear former Buffalo Sabres announcer Rick Jeanneret (who just passed away sadly) say “in OOOOOOOOOOOVERTIIIIIIIIMMME”

I was a huge Sixers fan as kid. Loved this dude....my dad was tight with Steve Mix & those teams back then were so fun to watch.

It was at the end of a reel so I'm not even sure what game this is from, but I suspect it was a preseason game. I believe Mr. Zinkoff passed not long after he did this interview, so I was glad to find it and post. He was as highly revered in Philly as Johnny Most was in Boston.

@@retromaven2159 glad you posted. He lived about a year and change afterward. Remember vividly finding out a few days after Christmas in '85 that he died. Me and my dad loved watching them in part because I was a kid and amused by Zink and how he announced Julius.
