Great devotion this morning Steve. You’re right we do tend to focus our prayer life on things that are bothering us or things that we want and not on God. Thanks for the reminder love the devotions and love our D groups!

I learned the more I focus on God and what he has done in my life, I take it all with him and lay it all at his feet. I feel so much peaceful. I make sure I thank him each and every day. Casting all cares upon him for he cares for me. I use this scripture alot when I go through things and it help me to remember to go to my source(GOD).

Thank you for these devotionals!! I especially needed this one. It’s so easy to get bogged down with anxiety and forget all that is good when we’re not in the Word consistently. I loved the story one of my D group ladies shared. She had a garden with several beautiful flowers but there was also a weed in their midst. She was complaining about the weed and her husband told her to stop focusing on the weed and see the beauty of the rest of the garden. What we focus on makes all the difference!

Wow Steve. I listen to the devotion almost everyday on my way to work. This one hit home. In Healthcare it is easy to focus on the bad right now but what miracles happen also. Thanks for changing my perspective Of focus.

Praise God for your leadership and commitment Steve. It’s not always the most convenient, but I am up to date to the day in keeping up with you this year. Still a work in process, but by the grace of God and with some help from Bro Hogg I am growing daily. And of course… Go Big Blue.

Several months ago the Lord brought me to the same conclusion about not focusing too much on the things that make me anxious EVEN IN PRAYER. Can't remember what passage He used to show me that; think it was in our OT readings, maybe Joseph's story. At first I questioned the thought, "Even in prayer?" but over and over the Lord confirmed to me that part of changing my thought processes includes the things I pray about and how long I linger over them in prayer. Your coming to the same conclusion from this passage is further confirmation of that to me. Changing my thought processes has helped so much with how I handle anxiety and has even greatly lessened the amount of anxiety I experience daily. Of course, it's always two steps forward and one step backward with me, so I needed the reminder today to mention my anxieties to the Lord in prayer and then move on to other requests and to linger more on praise and thanks than anything else. Thank you.
