I’m frustrated. I try to think about good things but I am a worrier and I know that’s a sin and I’ve been struggling with it for a very long time I just take one minute at a time it’s all I can do.

That Scripture reminds me of this: We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Great Chapter to learn how not to read in context....I have been guilty in my earlier Christian walk - As we mature in the Lord it surly is important to read the scriptures before (4:13) and after - Let's be strong and let's be content - Thanks Pastors and Team BT

Verse 7. Love it. This chapter is so encouraging, and I needed that reminder today to not be anxious but bring things to God. What does it mean in verse 6 “with prayer and thanksgiving tell your requests to God” ? Also, I like that you said “you can’t just take a verse, stick it on a coffee mug, and expect everyone to understand it.” Context is so important, and one of the reasons I’m so glad you guys are doing this! I love not only reading the Bible daily but also having it explained so I can really understand and apply what I just reads

ruthieeeeeeeeeekk Paul tells them not worry about anything, but instead bring thier needs to God in prayer. They way he tells us to do that is through petition (keep coming back to God again and again) and with thanksgiving (we need to be a thankful people recognizing all He has done for us - perhaps he tells us this because this helps put our requests in perspective). When we continue to give things to God, and live in a state of thankfulness, there is peace that passes understanding.

Yes ... there was so much quarreling in a comment section of certain holidays being pagan. This page does so much exposing that it forgets that we are to edify one another, love another, be there in carrying eachothers burdens and yes what are we thinking about. Is it True , right, noble, pure ,lovely, of good report, excellent and praise worthy. Those things are what we need to focus on and I guess we just have to keep reigning ourselves in to do so .. just keep circling back to what really matters. 🥰
