Accidentally dropped mine and just removing the plate and replacing it worked! Will keep the lubricant in mind for when I, apparently, experience this again later. Thank you!

THANK GOD for this video. i was losing my mind, it had been 45 mins of buzzing. for anyone else trying this, it takes more WD40 than you think. I had to use like 3x the amount this guy did.

Just did this and it worked. Thanks for this. I ended up breaking the bottom most tab of the switch. It's very tiny, so now the bottom of the switch sticks out. Keep an eye out for that.

Had to rig mine up months ago, problem was the piece of plastic that presses down on the on/off button failed to do its job.

hey, i know it says you posted this a year ago, but please do not use vegetable oil as a lubricant >.> It'll go rancid eventually, and can get thick and goopy adn decrease the lifetime of your machine. It's also not made to handle any of the stresses of machinery.

Thanks for the video. This is the 2nd one I purchased for my husband. The first one lasted 2 years before the issue happened, but then threw it out. Will get my husband to try this with WD40. Hope it works.

Try wahl trimmers, they have minimal electronic components inside and the switch is mechanical..

When you get the new one there will be a tape stuck over the switch. That was a problem with many who did not see it and reported it as faulty switch. 😊

i say sewing machine oil or if you have any lying around, silicone based lubricant. wd-40 will be your best bet tho and can come in handy for a bunch of other things, worth having even a small can around
