Just in case no one realized....DON'T USE SOAP when cleaning the brew group!! Any soap at all will impart a nasty flavor to the coffee for a good long while afterward. This video uses the word "clean" when they really meant "rinse" the brew group. To clean the brew group you've got to use the special cleaning tablets which I suspect are just compressed citric acid powder. Also, as a rule NEVER USE SOAP on any component that eventually touches your mouth. So dont use soap on the water tank, brew group, etc. Only use soap on the drip tray.

@Philips How often should we use the Philips lubricant grease in order to lubricate the coffee group (as you show in the video)? Also, it is not that clear to which parts exactly we should apply the grease. Is there another source of information for this process?

Hello Jim, thank you for your question. We recommend lubricating the brewgroup every 2 or so months. For more information on how to Maintain your LatteGo we would like to refer you to: to.philips/6052zEU8w. Alternatively, we would like to recommend you to reach us on Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare) as we are better equipped to handle your questions over there. Hope to see you there.

Removing aquaclean has no issues. You only might get a message that you don't have it installed but that's it, the machine should just work fine without it ;-)

If I only make 1 or maybe 2 cups a day do I still need to clean this much? Will the machine remind me when I need to clean? It does feel like a lot of work for a cup or two a day.

Hi David, thanks for your comment! Regular cleaning and maintenance keeps your machine in top condition and ensures good-tasting coffee for a long time. We therefore advise you to follow the steps in this video, even if you make just a couple of cups of coffee a day. You can also check the guidelines for cleaning and maintenance in the user manual, here: to.philips/60553njbN. We hope this helps!

For my Philips 4300 LatteGo quick milk clean option doesn't appear at all but there's all these other options that can be seen in this video. I was wondering why there's no such feature in my machine and if there's other ways to clean milk system.

I’m not sure if you’ve figured it out or not, but since I’m just now troubleshooting my own machine I figured I’d let you know my findings. You should see an option for “Quick Clean” on your cleaning functions - this is essentially the lattego quick milk cleaning function shown in the video!

@@LukasIvanauskas Interesting! On mine that first function works just fine - you have the lattego equipped and it spurts water through the lattego. Which, I end up washing the lattego daily anyway so I suppose it's not the end of the world for me, but I wonder why it doesn't show up for you.

@Phillips, does the water tank always have to be filled to the maximum position? Quick scenario...I need to make 2 cups of coffee early in the morning (leaving behind about +- 3/4 amount of water in the tank) and only plan to use the machine the following morning. It has been suggested that it is best to use fresh water everyday and do not want to waste too much water.
@Philips
@Philips Жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for reaching out to us! It is suggested to fill the water tank, as this machine for example can make up to 8 cups of coffee. However, for a smaller quantity, you could indeed use less water in the tank, but make sure to fill it enough otherwise the 'water tank empty' icon will flash, and you will be unable to proceed. We hope this helps ☕

@@Philips Thank you very much! Also, how important is the water hardness setting for the optimal use of the machine? I used the test strip and all 4 squares remained green, indicating extremely soft water from my tap. I set the hardness setting accordingly but would like to know if this is a vital setting in case the strip test was not very accurate.
@Philips
@Philips Жыл бұрын
You are more than welcome! We advise you to adjust the water hardness setting to the water hardness level in your region for optimal performance and a longer lifetime of the machine. This also prevents you from having to descale the machine too often. The default water hardness setting is 4: hard water. Did you use the test strip as explained in the following steps?: 1: Immerse the water hardness test strip in tap water or hold it under the tap for 1 second. 2: Wait 1 minute, the number of squares on the test strip that turn red indicate the water hardness. To set the correct water hardness, kindly follow these steps: 1: Tap the Settings icon and use the up and down arrows to select 'Water hardness'. Then press the OK icon to confirm. 2: Use the up and down arrows to select the water hardness level. The number of red squares selected on the display should be the same as the number of red squares on the test strip. 3: When you have set the correct water hardness, tap the OK icon to confirm. We are here if you need further help ☺️

@@Philips thank you for your promptness. I used the test strip as advised and none of the squares changed to red after the aforementioned 1 minute period. I assumed that the water is soft and therefore selected the '0 option' on the hardness setting. I was just a little concerned that the test was not accurate which would result in the incorrect hardness option being selected on the machine.
@Philips
@Philips Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the further details! That's correct, you can select 0 if none of the squares turn red. Feel free to use an alternative water test strip if you would like to investigate the water hardness further. We hope this helps ☺️
