A strange start for the best team in baseball's quick west coast road trip. After Bryce Harper is ejected in the first inning, the only offense came from a pair of solo home runs from Nick Castellanos and Edmundo Sosa. Jose Alvarado's blown save in the 9th opened the door the Rockies to steal a game from the Phillies on Friday night in Coors Field. Totally agree , Alvarado isn't a closer , Soto isn't a closer. And Hoffman sure as he'll isn't a closer. , love to keep Sosa for long time so gonna have to trade someone like Clemens or Sir Anthony or both.

Time for some hard truths. Soto and Dominguez can't pitch. The Phil's need to trade for Miller from the Athletics. Merriefield is a disappointment. Pache and Rojas are basically the same person and neither can hit.

Yes, this loss sucked and it hurt. The Bryce Harper ejection was terrible. Thompson's decision to put Rojas in and pinch-hit for a red-hot Sosa were very questionable. It sucked that Alvarado gave up that homer with two outs in the 9th and the Phillies couldn't get the go-ahead across with the bases loaded and one out. That's baseball unfortunately. But the Phillies can bounce back. The Braves were destroyed by the Pirates and the Dodgers lost to the Reds (who also suck and are at the bottom of their division). It happens. Let's move on and the Phillies will bounce back.

That first base umpire was balls, but I think JT got a little too comfortable with how dominant Alvarado looked against the previous two subpar batter. Stallings can't hit breaking balls.

Bohm needs to make up his mind on what hes doing at the plate , if he cheats a bit and opens up he could add allot of power and still be a .300 hitter , more than enough skill to be a Power hitter early in counts and protect w 2 strikes , Maybe he should wait till the offseason for this small adjustment ?

Harper was extremely selfish getting himself thrown out at the start of the game. Grow up, be a man. Phils were on such a roll, I have no doubt they would have won with him in the lineup. Now suppose it cascades from here into a losing streak. Acted like a baby, just like Embid does, when he throws elbows unnecessarily and gets called for fouls, wiping out great plays he makes.

Why is it that Jose Alvarado always gets a pass, he blows alot of games and I'm not getting why he doesn't get the criticism Mitch Williams, Jose Mesa, Hector Neris, Billy Wagner and many more over the years...Kerkering is the future closer but I'm ready to give him the baseball now as Alvarados career numbers have never been impressive

The Phillies need to make some huge changes to their pitching. Sanchez, Walker, Soto and Dominguez can in no way be depended on. They just don't have what it takes to be part of a championship team. Any game they're are part of should first be looked at a suspected loss even before the game starts. These guys will only damage the Phillies chances trying to make the post season and will for sure destroy the Phillies from winning in the post season. Whatever Dombrowski has in mind for mid season trading, better include off-loading these bozos.

Sanchez has been terrific. What are you watching. Soto is okay although he can be wild. They are not trading Walker as he is an innings eater. If you noticed, Seranthony right now is the last guy put in or only in when thye have a big lead.

I'm so tired of people saying Sanchez has been great. Are we watching the same games when he pitches? He has no command and when gets out of his regular jams, there's a huge sigh of relief. There's a system in place in baseball for developing pitchers to have their hands held and nurtured, it's called the farm system, not the big league.

Send down Rojas and trade Soto. Rojas is too much of a liability in the lineup same with merrifield and Soto can’t throw strikes. When he does throw strikes, he leaves hit pitches right over the middle of the plate. Im sorry but if Gregory Soto pitches in extra innings, you lost no matter what you do.

Once again, all the hype, quickly dislodged by pathetic rigged umpire calls on one side of the event. U can win 1000 games in reg season, and it means nada, come playoff time, when corporations decide who will win it all We get all these early warnings, and need to start demanding accountability, or it will never end, completely manuring sports integrity for our kids.
