It was just a couple of years ago in 2022 when people wondered who would be the Phillies 3B Alec Bohm or Bryson Stott? The Phillies had Didi at SS and Jean Segura at 2B. Now 2024 how far has Bohm and Stott come. Both could be All Stars this year. And then the trade for Marsh. Those 3 guys are stars on a team of stars.

Marsh needs to keep improving, especially against lefties if he wants to take over a Corner outfield position full time. He had a really hot start this year, just like last year but now he is slumping again back to a .250/.320/.400 hitter. He needs to become that .275/.380/.500 hitter than he is expected to be

So when Trea come back who goes down? It can’t be Clemons or Merrifield one bats left and one bats right. Both can play 3 positions in the infield and left and right outfield. Rojas and Panche are both right handed light hitting outfielders keep one up and one goes down. Marsh can cover center if needed.

@@KevinD-wn7pd yes it has to be pache he is the only choice, clemens is too good at hitting mlb pitching to send down again, plus it forces thompson to give rojas more abs

@@Masonmccrayedmundo has been great! And he is a better RH hitter and a better defender than Merrifield at every position. Idk why merrifield got so many starts, and I REALLY dont understand why HE filled in for the leadoff spot when schwarber went down when Stott was hitting better is every single category and had experience in the spot. Merrifield is cooked and a waste of a roster spot so far this season

Pache dont suck, he's in the Show,on a great team. He was a highly rated prospect in Atlanta , as was Brandon Marsh in Angles farm system. Both struggled to hit consistently. Then the trade happened. Marsh gets more opportunities to start. I think if Pache started consistently, he would develop more. Look at Sosa. More time playing, he looks great. Marsh is the man, but I'd play Pache in RF, Give Casty a day off or two. He did get above the mendoza line, tho.

They did this without realmuto, without Trea Turner. This lineup needs to start games with Merrifield Marsh and Clemens I think their offense, and finish games with Rojas/pache. So much depth. If Taijuan wasn't making so much, he'd be in the pen instead of Turnbull, and we'd have 4 guys with era in the 2.00s and 1.00s. But... 20 games over .500. things are clicking and let's see what happens when we play some better teams. Usually bad teams beat you too. But they're sweeping everyone. All in their prime. We gotta get this done this year.

Our starting pitching is set. The infield is set. The bullpen is playing great. The bench is strong. The only weakness I see is our outfield. We need 1 top of the line outfielder both in the field and at the plate. I just don't see any other weaknesses with this team if they stay healthy.

Ben Davis is a clown. He offers nothing. He would say Castellenos is havin a great year. Maybe move Schwarber in lineup where he can get pitches. If Clemens keeps this up he has to stay. Nicky singles for 20mil. They keep sayin matter of time its almost fucking June and Phillies starting pitchers have 4 of the top 20 era it wouldn't been 5 but Turnbull not the bum walker is in pen. Turnbull has been terrible since the move

Yeah, Turnbull isn’t looking like a reliever. Sanchez has pitched in the bullpen before, but keeping him as a starter gives them that second left handed starter - so he’s probably staying the starting rotation.

Looks like you better get some bull pen help , when I left the channel, the Phillies were leading 11-3 in the bottom of the eighth . That means your bullpen gave up two more in the ninth .

The guys pitching “mop up duty” don’t necessarily put forth the same effort as when the game has a tighter score. But the Phillies bullpen has a number of pitchers who have been disappointing in 2024, so they need those pitchers to get it together or they need to bring in guys who will do better.

Pache is out of minor league options. The only two non-pitchers that can be sent to the minors are Clemens and Rojas.

I don't know why these guys insist on tripping over themselves to try to say that Schwarber is a good offensive baseball player. The guy is such a non-entity. He's fine. He's there. He walks and once a week he crushes one. It's not really worthy of discussion.

34 and 14 against major league competition is legit. Winning record or not. Nobody's going to dominate above 500 teams but if you beat down bad teams and hold serve agoant good teams that's what wins you 95+ games in the regular season and put you in the best position to win a world series

Phillies are sweeping teams that the Braves are loosing games to. They can only play who they're scheduled against but if you're looking for an equal point of comparison to another highly regarded team in the same division that has played lots of 500+ teams, there you go... The Phillies closest division rival isn't good enough to beat up on the bad teams like the Phillies do.

It’s a point not dismissing… Phil’s are beating the teams they need to beat which is different this year. But yes- they have not played teams like Dodgers, Orioles, Yankees and Braves lately to really test them. We shall see soon enough where they stack up against the top dogs.

@@johnw5597 If I get some extra spare time, I'll download standings to a spreadsheet or database so I can calculate win pct vs teams under 500 for the Phillies and the teams you mentioned in one swoop. It would be interesting to see how they stack up apples to apples.
