I think it's pretty good and durable and good quality. The screen seems really well built, if something blocks the screen from rotating, it seems to still work later.

can ii download 3rd party apps to use on it?

Yes you can, via .apk files. Reach out to Philosin, they can also help and probably provide you some as well. It would need to get uploaded via a USB drive from your computer, to your USB Cable on the radio. I actually installed some on this one.

With this unit i dont see a video output to hook up to my headrest tvs

No, I don't think it has an output for that. Just inputs.
