LL you are the man!!! I could never repay you for all the amazing phish you’ve captured. Your videos from the following night are so good. The Everything’s Right jam is probably my most-watched KZfaq video.

Was at this show and remember thinking they sounded particularly badass, esp on No Quarter and First Tube. I also had this same view...thank you for sharing

IW@TS and it was some serious top-shelf Phish energy! When No Quarter is the set's cool-down song, you know you have a hot shit set :)

Those lights...meshing with the music, slowly shifting and melting. My God! No better place in the world to take a trip ;) it always made the show FLY BY tho! 23minutes felt like 2. Why I stay sober listening/watching to them, makes it last lol what a gift it must have been to be at big cypress midnight-7am set. So satisfied, dem musical bellies full

What’s crazy, and almost incomprehensible to me, is that the next night might’ve been even better. LL has an amazing video of the Everything’s Right jam from 12/30/18. Can’t recommend it enough if you’ve never seen it. Brings tears to my eyes.

These guys must be the last big name bands that aren't using in-ears. Pretty cool to be able to see the whole stage setup from this vantage point (I'm an audio dweeb)
@Throwawayjim1199 ай бұрын
Well, they are now! And while i don’t love it, i gotta admit the transitions this year have been smooth as hell. I’m okay with them using all the tools at their disposal if it makes the music better

@@Throwawayjim119 Thanks for the heads up....I've got no issues with it, was just surprised to see that they weren't using them. Everyone that uses them raves about them, and it's gotta be a huge time and money saver. Instead of lugging around a couple of thousand pounds of amps and speakers, you have a briefcase or two full of the IEM and a rack of wireless. Not to mention it makes the sound easier to mix. Just had a quick listen to part of a random 2023 show, and it sure does sound good. It kinda looks like Trey's still got a few wedges in front of him. Wonder if that's for backup or if he's getting a mix to supplement the IEMs?

@@davewestner hahahaha dude that’s way above my pay grade but i dig your enthusiasm. If you’re able, check out the Cities > (slow) Llama from 10/7 in Nashville. That jam absolutely melted my face. I was up in the stands Page side about 50 feet from the band, and I could see them talking about 30 seconds before the move into Llama. Butter. Another one where you can see them utilizing the in-ears (this one is on KZfaq, official release) is the Sand > No Man’s > Llama from 9/1 at Dicks. This version includes a proper rockin Llama. Now of course, they’re no 7/22/97 DWD > Mikes > Simple (also available on KZfaq) but they’re killing it

@@Throwawayjim119 I didn't realize it was such big news that those guys moved to IEMs. I googled it and a ton of threads came up about it. Kinda surprised that anyone outside of audio engineers or musicians would care about that. I'm sure there'll be some industry news about it....will be curious to read why they decided to make the change. Anyway, thanks for the recommendations. I don't listen to a whole lot of Phish these days....i'm still mainly going back to listen to early-mid 90s shows when I get in the mood for some jams. Checking out the 9/1 suggestion you made and it sounds great! Might nerd out and do an A/B comparison of that show and a show from a couple of years ago and see if the sound is a lot different. Like I said in my OP, I'm an audio dweeb Cheers
