Yet one more of the thousands of reasons why I LOVE KZfaq - with Musicians, its like a virtual MUSEUM of SOUND! Every Night when preparing Dinner, I find another Vocal Genius to listen to and get inspired. Last eve was Oscar Peterson Trio and Ella Fitzgerald. Tonight, a Phoebe Song List. Fantastic. When I was a Teen in the late 70's, you'd have to WAIT for a Radio Station to play your favorite Song and then it took a lot of Babysitting Jobs to save up for just ONE ALBUM or 45! Here we get ALL of this Genius for FREE! :) lol

A choir director once told me to check out Phoebe Snow because she thought I sounded a lot like her. I was 16 at the time and have followed her career ever since. I love you Phoebe. Rest safe in His arms

Phoebe was amazing, a brilliant songwriter with a one-of-a-kind voice. And here, bonus points for the great Fonzi Thornton on backing vocals!!!!!

Fell in love with her vocals in my early 20s. It's a life long love relationship. Her voice has been the perfect commentary for the sad and the thoughtful times in my life. Thank for the gift you shared with us so beautifully, Phoebe.

I was lucky enough to see/hear both ladies in concert. Ella was really old when I saw her. I was sitting on the back of the stage because my cousin was working the lights. I got a free ticket to see Phoebe in 1977 and I only remembered one song, Poetry Man. I figured for free I couldn't go wrong. I loved her from the first note. RIP Phoebe

I am visualizing you in your daughters embrace. May you shine on in perfect joy! I am truly thankful to have shared this planet with you. Thank you for the days on end spent cradling cardboard and reaching for the notes! Thank you.

Years ago I saw her and she is loud, according her own admission, but to me she is a genius. A wonderful innovator. I have never heard anyone with the range she has. Ms Lady, be as loud as you want. I'll listen.

I saw this when it aired a couple of years ago, & had the good fortune to see her live as well, when she was the 'headliner' @ one of our local arts festivals. She was in great voice, as good as I'd remembered her from the 70s. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to recover from a devastating stroke earlier this year.

What a voice, what a talent, what an inspiration. Often times when I have felt that the days of great singers have given way to so much mediocraty combined with slick packaging, Phoebe somehow makes it back and reminds me that all is not lost. She, like so many great singers such as Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Willson, and Shirely Horn had talent and a distictive style first, packaging second. Phoebe Snow's music has guided my footsteps since 1978. Kick ass and get well Phoebe, the world needs you.

@halaluani I have "all" of Rachelle Ferrell's music and saw her in person twice. Both she and Phoebe are unique in their own way. However Ferrell is from a different generation and has her own style. Hadn't really thought of them in the same boat. Would be interesting to see them perform together.

Hey Karma sad to tell you she is very sick and needs us as a whole to send her strength!!! I don't think she is in the best hands right now.Its just a feeling I have.I got the chance to see her 10 times after her Daughter passed. It was a life long dream come true the first time after that it was pure icing!!! She talked to me and took pictures with me and I had front row seats 8 out of 10 times!!! So she knew I was digging her music!I have to say it was like being in heaven.she is only 5ft.4

Love you, Fonzi, but you were clearly unrehearsed on this gig. Phoebe was just fine without a background singer on this tune.
