They make fun, quirky and well built watches. I bought the LE bronze Leviathan a couple of years ago. It's a watch that will never leave my collection.

I just wish they had a no date version as the symmetry of the dial would be better, and the watch would look much nicer in my opinion w/o the date window. That aside, one great watch for sure. I'm so glad to see watches that when I get them. They are done correctly. I like nice and sharp. Strap down a leather on form. Use your hands. Cut some corners yourself if it bothers. This watch is great 👍

I dont love the design of this watch very much, but I do love the two other Phoibos that i own (voyager and apollo), and i appreciate the brand's willingness to shake up their philosophy and have fun with it. Love em or hate em, that's more than a lot of other manufacturers can say!

Ooh, shiny!😄 I went to their website and noticed, that several models at once caught my eye. This is quite unusual for me, especially since I'm not really a diver's watch type of guy. I mean i like those, but they're not my favorite style (I think I like chronographs the most). The reason, why I don't like diving watches that much is probably because the general layout or design - whatever you call it - for these watches doesn't vary all that much. Sometimes you can take like five different "divers" from five different brands (and at a very different price points), but if they all have similar bezel finish (like "Pepsi"), similar hands, similar, round, lumed indices, then if you look at all five lined up from just a few steps - they all look pretty much the SAME. These Phoibos watches however really look different, and I love it. First, there are quite unusual dial colors. Then, I've noticed the variety of different shapes of indices, which is very welcome change. The bezel ridge shape and those 3D, steel bezel pips are also something quite refreshing to me. I love the Proteus Bronze model for its round date window, which in my opinion fits there perfectly. I am also all for the date windows with background color perfectly matching the dial! Seems like not that much of a hassle, yet very few brands decide to go for it, using the "vanilla" white date wheels instead, even in those quite expensive watches. Last, but not least, their pricing seems to be very "friendly", considering their watches mostly run on Seiko's NH35, yet unlike original Seiko they offer a lot better specs (domed sapphire crystal, 300 m WR and so on). I have an original Seiko 5, which has only 100 m WR, hardlex (so, mineral) crystal, sterile crown, which is NOT screw-in, and I had to pay over 600 EUR for it... I mean, I love that watch and I don't regret buying it, but the price was really overinflated, considering just the specs, only because Seiko has this annoying habit of slapping "Limited Edition" on their every second watch😑 Not to mention, that Seiko is notorious for their crooked dials, while these watches seem to be quite well made overall. The case sharpness is a concern, but frankly, at this price point I'm not going to gripe much. As to date window at 6, it's more of a personal taste thing and I actually really like it, so that's one negative less for me. To me it's more important, if the bezel lines up every time, or if the hands actually hit the indices correctly. Definitely it's going to be one of my next purchases, I may even buy more than one (both Proteus and Great Wall series look amazing). I love it, when I have a hard time choosing a watch to my collection not because of the price, but because they ALL look fantastic! Right now, there's not even one Proteus model, that I wouldn't like. Oh man, decisions, decisions...

Nice review again 👍🏻, I have a couple of Phoibos, the make very original watches, and the quality they have is fantastic ( even if Sharp on this ) but they still insist with that ”kid designed logo”) if they only could ditch it 🙄.. make a nice texted namelogo.. and put that very ”important” octopus logo on the backside..otherwise cool watch and nice colours 👍🏻

I struggle with most of Phoibos's designs, but this one is not half bad, I like the dial. However, it's still a little clunky, and the case should be more redined in terms of its sharpness.The lume on the second hand counter balance is a little odd and not very useful.

Nice (with a date ;-) but too large for me. I wish they could make a 39 mm Voyager with this green dial! Love my two Voyagers - only minus is the bracelet; there should be quick relase spring bars on it.

I had heard of knuckle dusters, but perhaps time for a new class to debut ... wrist dusters? All joking aside, a cool piece and like you said enjoying a more industrial style piece like this as part of a larger collection definitely has value. Looks like a prop from BioShock. 😀

Hi Pete! Do you happen to know if the bracelet from the original great wall will fit this new almost identical looking case second gen great wall? I ask because I have the original grest wall which is one of or if not the very best micro brand with a ETA 2824 Swiss movement price of $500 that momey can buy. Anyways the original great wall has full originality and the ultimate tool watch. I want to review the black dial red second hand second gen great wall but i cannot find anything out there that clarifiies if the original great wall bracelet eill fit this great wall. It is my prsumption that it will but wanted to ask and see if you knew. My channel is incredibly small compared to yours but ive collected high end divers from 10k and below for over 20 years. Used to be my brand of choice was Breitling. Ive since gained control of myself and taught myself to think logically then buy rather to not think at all and if it enters my mind or my sight I would instantly buy and think later. Lol. Oh the money I would or could have saved. Anyways phoibos has been kind enough to offer me a discount to review a piece. Im highly considering the great wall second gen in black but since i have the original great wall If I knew for certain that the bracelet would fit the second gen then I would definitely pull the great wall 2.0 in and review it on my very tiny dive watch channel when i see your awesome channel. My best and i thank you for any info if you happen to know. I cannot get phoibos to answer this one simple question that leads me to believe that it will fit but phoibos has chosen to not dissclose.
