Always amazes me how some building owners get away without having an emergency phone in the elevator. You think it would be considered illegal.

Sorry... I was late to the party... because I was on the phone. Interesting idea... I think my favorite scenario would be entrapment during a serious emergency and finding that "emergency" pack of Marlboros. I've never smoked in my life but if the s**t's gonna hit the fan anyway, eh... why not?

seems like in my experiences most of the time there is no phone in the box, I had a couple where the door fell off when I opened it, one time a series one it wouldnt shut after and kept swinging back open. that otis series one you did when you closed it you can hear the phone ringer for a second

*Lol!* Imagine forgetting your mobile phone at home and getting stuck in one of these elevators XD I think I’ve only got 2 instances where phone boxes were acting up. One refused to open & one refused to close lol!

T3224 Elevators pretty much what happened with the man who got stuck for 41 hours. He didn’t own a cell phone, and the elevator phone wasn’t working.
