Nah, that's not how it works. He's able to instantly kill us because of the Betrayal Kill mechanic. If a monster is sparing you, attacks dealt to them deal insane damage. An instant defeat. He's able to dunk us because *we spared him when his name was yellow*, and he used the game mechanic against us.

This fanart makes me feel a chilling sensation about the Genocide route that I haven’t felt in years, not since I first went into the Undertale fandom back in 2016. The way the rhythm moves about is almost like each step Sans takes in the Judgement Hall is like the beat of his Megalovania… And at 2:05 you can hear Papyrus’s theme playing on accordance with the Megalovania almost as if Sans is reliving his last happy memories with his brother before you walk up to Fight him, probably knowing that he’s probably not going to get another chance to skim down memory lane after this last upcoming Fight… Because he’ll be dead………
