Photo Carve CnC (Photo cut into Wood)

On this video I will utilize the Photo Carve toolpath when I CNC a photo of Abraham Lincoln. This project used a 1/8" 30 degree V-bit, then a quick airbrush coat and sanding. This one is amazing!!

That is actually really impressive And I had the same worry about the sanding, I feel it would be very hard to clean it up since you'll destroy the detail involved

I use hard maple , 30deg. V bit. . .040 deep. Crosshatch.

I got the halftone gadget from the vectric website for free, and the photo carve ad-on was installed on a upgrade and I didn't pay for it either!.....I don't' know if its a Aspire upgrade or all vectric products....Thanks for watching!!

",Can tell who it is ...? Either as selfie or Honest Abe Lincoln!! I've never seen cross hatch before, usually just 1 angled line. I did come out very well. You can experiment with pre painting your wood beforehand with paint ,& varnish or a penetrating shellac or Danish Oil which will help stabilise the surface layers & give better contrast to the finished piece. I saw a demo of a product that allowed you to choose from several different carve patterns, circles,. Diamonds, zig zags etc. I just can't remember the app name ... (,It's an age thing!!)

I've talked with a guy that says my depth was wrong, I'm going to deep, so on the next one of these I do I will recalibrate my settings and try it more shallow to allow for more detail.....Thanks for watching!!
