A little addition to get a better result on the night texture.Open the Earth texture, go to luminance, add a new effect (Brightness, contrast and gamma) and put it below the backlight effect and finally set the contrast to 3 percent. Keep in mind that 5 percent is too far and 0 is the minimum. Sorry for my English I'm novice

Hello. Thanks a bunch for the tutorial, great work! You mind helping me out with few things: 1. The border between day and night sides looks like a sharp line on my earth. how can it be softened? 2. You also tell that you can bring this project to AE and tweak it some more. How exactly do you bring it to AE? Thanks!

Hi Elia 1. Make sure you did everything according to the tutorial, if you wish to send us a screenshot you can do it through our email or Contact page on our site. 2. to create the promo we just rendered out a PNG seq, and imported it to AE and started tweaking. Thanks for watching!

Really great tutorial, many thanks. One flaw I find, which I cant figure out how to fix: I have the planet lit from the side, and I have my night side and my day side. Between the two is a thick band of darkness that the backlight shader doesnt allow any luminance through to.. I see you have it on your example too.. Its the one thing dragging down the realism of the scene for me. The luminance channel should fade nicely in to the light, but its fading out way before the light area.. Thanks!
@VDODNA
@VDODNA 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Zeyd Thanks! If I understand what is the issue, I believe that if you tone down the light to 100% or below it will create a nice Fade from day to night. and maybe after that fix the overall light/contrast in post (AE). Cheers!
