Might be the only one but Adobe Lightroom Cloud I love as it works on my Pixel Book running chrome OS. As a non windows or mac user at home Adobe are actually support Chrome OS so thats great for me. Fulfledged app on chrome, not a mobile version for android that runs in a tiny window like a lot of photo editiors.

So apparently the Lightroom mobile does not include masking without downloading the lightroom program. Was I told correctly by Adobe help line

Mobile does support masking (though masking is a precise thing so I usually do it with my Elegance Masking presets or something like it) That said it may very well be that you don't get that feature unless you have a paid subscription,. But having the desktop version of LR installed should have no effect.

Do I understand correctly according to Adobe that there are no masks/brushes available on the mobile version?

Yes all the masks and brushes work in the mobile version. I always apply then using speed masks like my elegance presets as it's one click and then I can mod them as needed. I don't believe they are available if you don't have a subscription.

As someone who prefers desktop computer and pen for edits I just lightroom classic, the cloud version with slow internet connection is just not viable, plus actually having ownership of my images on my own physical computer is something I'm not prepared to give up, I'd give up using Adobe if they want everything cloud based.

I agree. I base everything in Classic, but I do use cloud to sync a few collections and to have edits available on my mobile and it works really well that way.

Thank you for this informative video. I started 8 months ago and dove right into Lightroom and found that I needed to increase my cloud storage which I have 60% left of 1Tb and 40,000 photos. I have been learning more about Classic and want to migrate to make that my main platform. Do you have any suggestions on how I can make the jump?

Classic works the same it just has more. I have a video category for LR here on the channel. IN particular look at my video on how catalogs work because that's is the main difference in setup.

At the moment I'm just trying to decide if I can get away with just grabbing the Mobile Lightroom app on its own which is cheaper, without desktop versions. I really don't feel like paying for the full package like I did in the past and then Adobe screwed me over by charging me for extra 4 months when I cancelled my plan because apparently I was locked into a contract which I didn't realize.

The mobile app is food but without a CC subscription it's limited unless you are only editing mobile photos/
