One thing I love doing is returning to the scene and retaking the same images in different weather. I hope you return to this spot and get that chapel again, but already I think you have some perfect shots of it. Wow!

Great video Mike. I have to say, when the phot bug hit me about 7 years ago, to the point i really took it seriously, i did what any new photographer does...think it's about the gear..lol. I also started watching a ton of youtube videos. Since then , I have built up quite a long list of photographers that I follow and have learned so much. But you, I have to say, are such a breath of fresh air, and your explanation of things is right down my alley. Definitely top 5 in that list. I have been watching your vids for a while now, and I have just recently switched over to Fuji. Still have my Nikon gear, but I don't know, I cant seem to put the Fuji down...lol. Keep up the great work and love seeing where your journey's take us next. You are a tremendous asset to photography Mike!

New subbie (from Photgrapyhy Masterclass Mag). Finding your vids so helpful, insightful. Loved the light changes here. I’m not patient at all (and recently concluded that landscape photography isn’t necessarily for me) but love watching others work and the craft of all.

Thanks and welcome @Jo. Don't tell anyone, but I'm not a 'hardcore' landscaper for that same reason. I love documentary, we still have to be patient - but not as patient as landscapers... 😆

Thanks for the welcome 🤗 . Could have fooled me with this video Mike - you hide that fact well. I find it hard to define what I like to shoot to be honest, but labels aside, it provides such a great outlet for me - almost therapeutic.

As always, Mike, very interesting and it has given me more pointers towards how to improve my own photography. On a slightly different tack, I would love to see some updated versions of all those brilliant videos you have done over the years in various places such as Mudeford, Lymington and many other towns. Would like another look inside 'Mike's Bag' too, to see how much your kit has changed.

Always curious about the photos you put up after taking them. Are they straight out of camera or are they edited.
@MikeBrowne
@MikeBrowne Жыл бұрын
All photos are edited @Lunch Lady. If you shoot jpg - the camera editd the raw file according to the picture control settings you choose in the menu and its on board algoritm. Or you camn shoot RAW (A raw file is the only un edited image you can get) then edit yourself. Like hand printing in a dark room. Yes i do post process my RAW files myself. ... MB🙏😊

You got so much camera shake because you are using the tripod incorrectly. Don't extend the middle column but instead extend the thickest of your leg segments to achieve the height you want!
@MikeBrowne
@MikeBrowne Жыл бұрын
Thanks @Karl Gunther Wunsch.
@karlgunterwunsch1950
@karlgunterwunsch1950 Жыл бұрын
@@MikeBrowne Just to explain: The middle column can freely vibrate in any direction and only gets dampened by the legs but any length extended of the middle column results in a longer viration frequency and a bigger amplitude. The legs themselves dampen the vibration quite effectively in three directions and thus result in lower amplitude…
@darlenebalkcum2839
@darlenebalkcum2839 Жыл бұрын
@@karlgunterwunsch1950 Good to know. If I understand you correctly the middle column should only be extended when using in a non windy situation.
@karlgunterwunsch1950
@karlgunterwunsch1950 Жыл бұрын
@@darlenebalkcum2839 Good tripods come without a middle column. If there is one it should only ever be used if you can't get to the needed height without it.
