In this video I'll be running through the techniques used on location to photograph a set of sculptures for a low key fine art style commission. I photographed these eight wooden sculptures on location using basic camera gear, one light and the Godox AK-R1 modifier kit.
You can find the items used in this video via these links to Amazon. This video is not sponsored and all of the items used were purchased by me.
Godox round head magnetic adapter: amzn.to/3RQJrZ0
Godox AK-R1 Flash Accessory Kit: amzn.to/48Ok6oD
Newer Universal E Type Cold Shoe Mount: amzn.to/3tJlQ2n
The tripod I was using is a decade old, the far more recent version is this
Manfrotto Tripod: amzn.to/3tGOxgi
These links direct you to the best deals I could find and are from the suppliers I purchased from on Amazon UK. Other Amazon territories may direct you to different vendors for the product.
And the Canon 760d and 18-55mm are donkeys old so no longer available but if you do fancy, and I'd recommend the 760d as a decent level first step camera, then try somewhere like MPB.

Fascinating stuff Dave. Using kit we all can afford and because you know what you are doing, nobody would ever know from the end result. Top work.

Thanks mate, every now and again I like to try and practice what I preach….very aware that I walk around sometimes on these vids going on about kit not being important whilst pulling out a 4 grand camera and lens haha 😁

Great Video Dave, Interesting to see the approach for a "budget" photoshoot, seems like a fair bit of work to me, thanks for sharing

Nice one Dave. Good to see some pro/commercial photography on KZfaq - the inverse square stuff was new and interesting for me. Great results too.

Thanks mate. I’m thinking of covering a bit more of the work side of my photography as we go into 2024….maybe! I’ve always done this channel as a bit of escapism from the commercial side of things but it’s becoming a bit inevitable that they are going to have to cross paths at some point.

@@LetsClickPhotography Yeah, I think people would like to see that - I know I would and I think especially those looking to get into the profession.

That was really interesting mate. Not only did you use budget type equipment to get some great shots, but that was great to watch you do a type of photography that I literally know nothing about. The images all turned out fantastic, I'm sure the artist was thrilled with the results. Hope you are doing well through your storm over there. I've heard there has been some bad flooding in places. Hope you haven't been affected by that. Really enjoyed it pal, chat soon!

Thank you mate. Yeah the flooding has subsided in most places (as flooding does) although it's raining again today which will soak the ground again. Nowhere near the severity of last weekend though.

Not too bad as I’m on the higher ground (ask any Jedi, this is always best) but in the dips you have to bring your own boat.
