This is episode 8 in my series about my daily life as a wildlife photographer.
Hi everyone. It feels like forever since I have shared my daily life with you. I have simply been too busy with lectures, assignments, events and a lot of other things. To be completely honest it has been too stressful.
Luckily nature photography can do more than adding beautiful photos and memories to the archive - it is the best cure, when I need to reconnect with myself and find my zen.
This video is most of all a life update catching up with the past 2 month, and I am looking forward to sharing my future adventures with you.

If there's something you can always count on, it's nature. Whenever I feel down or life is especially turbulent, I take some time to get outside and remind myself what's really important. As an artist and creator, I like to take my sketchbook, my journal, and my camera and go for long walks, taking in the magical beauty that is everywhere. Notice the often overlooked things, watch the beautiful creatures living their own lives completely separate from your own, open your ears to the sounds, feel the ground on your feet, and smell the fresh air (hopefully it's a pleasant smell). At the end of the day, nature is the most powerful thing in existence and we must remember that. ❤🌿

There is a magic about being out in nature. Go out there and be very quiet. You will forget about your self and only think of nature and the sounds of life that it can make. Great job Morten!

Morten, I can relate to what you were saying. Before I retired, I had a very stressful job and getting out in the woods with my camera was one of the few things that kept me sane and centered. Now that I'm retired, being out in the woods with my camera is just for the joy of being out in the woods. Very little life stress now but I still cherish every moment on the trail with camera in hand. Thank you for sharing this video with us. PS: you have a heater in your hide. That's just not fair. (just joking, wish I had a heater a couple weeks ago when it wan -20F).

Glad to see you back, The Osprey shoot was amazing and to see the amount of work that went into it was really impressive. Loved the gear review and so pleased that you rate the 180 - 600. Pushed the boat out with the Z9 but couldn't justify a big prime. Hung on for the 180-600 which I love so to hear from a great photographer that you like the lens serves to justify my decision further. Looking forward to more videos.

I so enjoyed watching it. Nature is always an inspiration. A little snow this morning, sun afterwards and colours of lichens were exploding. Small things, but how beautiful. First hazel blossoms stretching, already tiny green leaves on an elder bush. Frosty now, we'll see what wonders the morning light might bring.

First of all: I really love my calendar :D Your hard work really paid off 🤩 Secondly, I still really like how these are like several videos packed into one awesome video. Where to start... once again amazing photos from Norway and how lucky to see the Grey-headed woodpecker! And you got some great photos in these snowy conditions at home as well. Bjørn looked very handsome in his little coat (maybe a little less handsome when covered in mud 😛) Looking forward to all your adventures great and small in 2023! Morten, my husband and I just discovered your channel and have been enjoying it immensely! Your photographs are breathtaking and the commentary is priceless. As you might say, "Awesome." We watched a video from a while back and I wanted to give you a guardian tip about the slugs. You might already have discovered this but if you save your eggshells and dry them out, you can crush them up and spread them on the soil around your plants. The slugs don't like crawling across anything that is rough and the eggshells feed the plants. All natural and it really keeps the slug population down.

I follow several nature photographers on youtube and normally watch a video right when I see it came out. No matter wether I actually have time to watch it or if I only watch it on the side for example when I am doing some other stuff. When I see one of yours coming out I don't. I watch it at the first chance I get where I have nothing else to do on the side to not miss anything about it. Thank you very much for all parts of your life you share, it makes me feel to hear from an old friend even though we never met. Do you actually have a list of your presentations coming up in 2023 somewhere? I would live to see one of those live. Have a great 2023 and all the best from Mexico!
