Thanks for getting into this most important issue. The more you educate the public regarding work for hire, retaining copyright, usage rights, building your own library etc, the sooner the photography industry can recover. Your videos on these types of issues really differentiate your channel.

Thanks, it's one of those things no one wants to talk about I guess because it might make it sound like we are hard to work with. I just feel so many people are short-sighted on this topic and on the value of their work in general and it's lowering the value of all of our work in many manys unfortunately.

Great and necessary video. More people need to understand what's in stake here. We need more videos about these things and photographers also need to be pushing for updated legislation that protects them and their work.

i know longer shoot commercially. I always had usage fees when I did work commercially. This became harder and harder as so many were just giving it away.

It's hard battle hear Laura, I used to just be competing with other photographers who in my region who undervalued their work but now I'm competing with content creators who don't value their work at all :(.

@@AskMOTT I do not follow many people on KZfaq. I find that in general the ones with the most followers are the least knowledgeable about actual photography. I can see how these creators would be a huge problem to the industry.

If soeone is out there hustling a buck with their camera they should get fair compensation. That starts with them valuing their own work. Agreed.

How much do you feel AI will impact our business? Ability to charge a fair price for effort if at least some images can be generated via AI

A ton, some benefits sure, but I also just see the value of original creative work used for commercial purposes plummeting.
