Honestly, phreak deserves any ounce of backlash he can get. The past few patches he was trying to gaslight the community about the validity of the changes. Usually he's pretty neutral/descriptive, but when it comes to communication, he is just simply wrong. The pings were a blessing for the game as a whole, not only soloQ, but even in competitive 5v5s. You could communicate tactical and important stuff fast while keeping comms clear for more advanced coordination. But they really show that they rather dont want the community to communicate at all then risk hurt feelings over pings.

In a game where you can literally full mute you don't need to police them like this man. Like if you don't want to hear from someone mute them, taking away everyone's ability to speak just makes it worse for the majority of players rather than people using existing systems to avoid toxic people.

Limiting the pings to 3 makes me more angry i always spam question mark pung when my lane opponent left the lane because my team mates sometimes lacks map awareness and the ping sound or visual is sometimes muted by the environment

There is also the problem that what if your teamates have chat turn off. What do you do? Types harder? Also i feel like people are more likely to mute chat then ping. I mean it is literraly one of the first thing i suggest to my friends that are not super good but want to try stuff. Their is no good reason to remove pings when you have the option to turn them off.

i shouldn't say this, but the best way to reduce toxicity might be to add a community chest like in dota. because just because i'm way ahead i can't help the team. so instead of buying my 3rd tank item, i would rather help the adc get the first item and half and somewhat regain lane.

Remove toxicity by making the same change to emotes. Auto mute if you dance, taunt, laugh, or emote more than three times. Clearly that will fix it.

Something i noticed is that the more you restrict player freedom the more toxic a game becomes. In pvp games you are already restrictid by strict rules and the weapons/ abilities/class... and in league the case may seem that toxicity is getting low but player dissatisfaction is increasing rapidly wich may or may not blow up on their faces in the near future

This is such a backwards way of addressing the issue. Toxic people will keep finding ways to be toxic no matter what features you remove. The less they can express their mental problems, the more they will resort to more drastic actions such as intentional feeding or leaving. They need to be separated from the non-toxic community either through bans or different queues.

man, i have 3 perma banned accounts which i spent 2-3 years leveling (and i spent a lot of money on them) banned because i had people run it down in my games 2 to 3 times in a row, i was sick of it and i said stuff to them (nothing serious like racism or self harm just telling them to do something better with their lives instead of stupidly running it down) i appealed on all my bans, i told them that it felt unfair that i got permanently banned and lost all my progress on an account that took years to level, spent money a lot of money on (probably around 300$) just because i lost my temper playing with people who straight up came to my lane gave 15 kills to the enemy and insulted me all game, and riot response to all my appeals was the same "we don't give second chances no matter what, tough luck make a new account and give us more money" now i have a 4th account honor level 5 all the time, but i didn't and will never spend a single penny on it, tell me am i in the wrong for losing my temper? do i deserve to lose my account which i spent time and money on forever just because i lost my cool because someone was running it down in my ranked game, cuz riot made it loud and clear that i should be sentenced to 100 years in jail at this point, and if i want my skins, champions, rank back i need to pay them money on a different account and grind more to get it back.

I usually don't minimizing pings and I defended the removal of pinging team mates but at this point they are just removing the entire ping system or making it useless and i have no idea why

Maybe something to consider would be, if you get spammed pinged, a pop up on the side could ask you if you want to mute that particular persons pings. That way its fast and convenience instead of tabbing, press small mute then mute the specific thing. If you remove pinging by default you remove all the times its usefull
