Interesting point on gleeful demolition, if you target your darksteel citadel or one of the artifact tap lands, you still get the goblins. Not sure if there is a deck that wants it though.

Yoooo, I've been waiting for this! Also I'm keen on this being a 'low power' set honestly, the theme is sweet and it looks like it's going to be fun in limited at least, so I'm looking forward to it. The only decks I see playing Mycosynth Garden are the ones that can run them as Black Lotus/LED of decks that a 2nd copy of an equipment. Now that I think about it, Mycosynth Garden + Lotus/LED + Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds is a fun looking loop.

Spelldancer can deal the damage get the trigger, and then you can ninjitsu something else in before the end of combat. The ninja won't do damage, but you can get a mana discount on something.

While you have valid points on The Eternal Wanderer, I feel you folks are missing something important on the +1: you can target any creature or artifact, not just your opponents, and it returns at that player's end step. You effectively o-ring their biggest threat with a planeswalker at 6 loyalty. In some ways I see it as the middle point between Elspeth, SC and OG Gideon Jura. If your opponent doesn't spend resources to kill it you gain a massive tempo swing. It also blanks your opponent's Jitte, for what it's worth.

It was Kaldheim when the Phyrexian creature errata happened. Or at least it was Kaldheim when they announced it would happen. Because Vorinclex in Kaldheim was the first card actually printed with the Phyrexian creature type on it. I think it might of been a year later when the actual errata came though.

I personally am going to copy Darksteel Citadel with the gardens, mostly because it’s incredibly funny as BM but also it could come up if you need affinity (Assuming you are playing a format that 1. Has affinity and 2. Has enough bad cards in the format that you can do that... so commander)

Always nice to see these. But if I may be so bold, I have a thought for a future episode. I was rewatching the Battle for Baldur's Gate episode and couldn't help but notice that y'all neglected to even mention Minsc and Boo. So an episode looking back on cards that you either over- or under-evaluated in previous episodes and why might be interesting.

Cacophonous Scamp is fine but the goblin I'm really hyped for is Exuberant Fuseling. Especially with a sac outlet on board, but honestly just as a one drop that grows whenever basically anything happens and has evasion built in. I think this card is going to very large a lot of the time.

Kinda funny to me that this set doesn't have much for Canlander, because it's very exciting for Gladiator.

i asked this during wheelers set review too and i dont think he completely understood what i was asking, do you think the new jace has any chance in the underworld breach version of storm seeing as it both combo's with breach + LED (milling your deck like brainfreeze) and can be an anti aggro card to buy a turn or two until you can setup the combo

Mindsplice Apparatus is starting to look like a real factor in 60 card, would it be worth discussing in the "possible cards we missed"?

Not sure if this is relevant to evaluating the card, but Skrelv gives hexproof instead of protection so you won't have awkward scenarios where you can't target your own creature.

I wanna copy Esper Sentinel with The Mycosynth Gardens. Gimme more tax/card draw. Also as a mono black player, Sheoldred's Edict makes me so happy. A cheaper way to get rid of Planeswalkers is HUGE.

any thoughts on any of the commander deck cards? Staff of the story teller seems pretty good in token decks, IDK if it's worth it but a repeatable trumpet blast from Roar of resistance seems fun and Monumental Corruption and Chiss-Goria both seem fun if a bit gimicky in eggs.

I dunno if you all read comments *three months later* but here goes: Transplant Theorist can maybe magical-Christmasland set up Thoracle to combo win with Demonic Consultation assuming A) you have the six mana to activate the ability, cast DemonConsult, then cast Thoracle, B) no counters, and C) they don't have that "look at the top three cards of target library, you may have that player shuffle" blue card. It's magical christmasland but a thought. B) Months later, we have seen Mycosynth Gardens turn out to see play in decks running Amulet of Vigor to basically "dash" bouncelands (Gruul Turf et al) for four mana and do cascade shenanigans. Dunno if that's a relevant play pattern, definitely a lot more fragile at effective-2 versus effective-8.

Mycosynth gardens can just tap to become a lions eye diamond or black lotus which don't need to tap to add mana?

I've had this nagging idea in my mind that Jace could go in a dredge deck. I'm not sure if it'd be good, since I've never piloted dredge before, but the second ability, even if you haven't turned on the draw three, can still mill yourself for like six cards with even a mid-tier dredger in the bin.

I know its not a new card but if would have liked to have heard an evaluation of Phyrexian Obliterator in Canlander. whether its playabke. or not. Maybe it just seems so obvious but... idk

So I think the question with the wanderer is can you afford to get a 6 mana white card in play. I think her actual collection of abilities are easily powerful enough that she deserves consideration as a power white card. The + can clear a blocker and bubble a creature all in 1, re-trigger etb's, or act as pseudo-vigilance. 0 is a strong blocker and attacker. The major think is you choose for her last ability and you can play her and do it immediately, and she survives. I think if you have a reasonable way to play her, she is a very powerful walker that absolutely is strongest if you're behind on board.

people had found in color with Unctus you can use Aphetto Alchemist from Onslaught to loot through your whole deck. As to cards left off after seeing Mindsplice Apparatus in action this card can get out of had extremely fast, it feel like in a way its better than goblin electromancer in storm but not borals since it has flash even if it costs double as you dont have to put oyur mana reduction on the turn your going off to protect it. But also that new proliferate instant starts to really get the card into nutty places. Monumental Facade can super charge it which is harder in singleton than normal magic but felt so powerful that its worth trying. While its not as good as the annticipate cards I think Drown in the Ichor can be missed also having proliferate as that word is smashed between the -4/-4 and the proliferate reminder text. Card seems niche as a sorcery but still could be reasonable in some decks. In the same vain as Drown being Niche I think Distorted curiousty is a thing if infect ever goes blue its not ancestral but 1 mana draw 2sare decent.

urabrask forge seems wildly capable. I have already played in out in a couple games with Ponza and RW Stax and it really makes your opponent deal with it or die.

I would like to propose an episode where the boys analyze (thanks to wheeler that have the global point of view) the necessity (?) of countermagic that creates mana advantage. Mental misstep, force spike and mana tithe are increasing their presence in the format because they can trade up more than before with cards that impact the game so big that u want to cast them as soon as possible. I know is a particular thing, but have some "documentary" videos could be interesting!

I think archfiend of dross can be a good card for medium black/ demon stompy, or maybe even other BX aggro decks. The downside is likely not relevant and the trigger and statline is really good.

Kinda niche and may have no home but I kinda feel like plated onslaught is a pretty powerful card in white artifact agro decks. Like we all know nobody plays around combat tricks and 2-3 mana inspired charge seems like an actually really powerful effect.

Unctus, Grand Metatect ABSOLUTELY has combos, and you even mentioned it just before talking about Unctus!! Fate Stitcher goes infinite with Unctus on it's own!! Since Fate Stitcher can target itself with it's untap ability, you can just keep on looting infinitely to draw/discard your entire deck! Can pair into some kind of dredge nonsense if you want, or just straight Thoracle people out!

Plated Onslaught seems interesting at killing people in an artifact aggressive deck. Though WW means your probably not more than 2 colours if you're playing it Capricious Hellriser feels like a card people need to read, then read again thinking it's worse than they read the first time, then read again and think it's better. Though I feel like it'll only see play if the cost reduction doesn't really matter.

Mycrosynth Gardens copies Jitte. Jitte doesn't care if it is tapped. Edit: Forgot it was legendary. Though I suppose you could still use it in response to your opponent trying to destroy Jitte.

Isn't cacophony scamp really good in hammer time. Play it turn one, hammer+ 1mana equip (sigardas aid/resolute strike). Attack (11 damage), sack to itself (11 damage). It's 22 damage turn 2.

I just think you use the Mycosynth Gardens to copy, like, small creatures. Esper Sentinel, Lion Sash, even Blinkmoth Nexus. It's another Mutavault for artifact aggro decks.

Is it at all relevant that the Eternal Wanderers’ plus 1 also protects her? If the opponents creature is targeted it comes back at the opponents end step, not yours.

I always think of equipment decks as "Bonk!" decks. cause I'm gonna give some dork some kinda stick, and he's gonna bonk ya with it.

Yeah I don't think Elesh Norn makes the cut in Esper Initiative. Everything that gives you the initiative besides white plume adventurer is 4+ Mana, and getting one of those down is hard enough. I'd rather run one of the 5 Mana initiative creatures or more cheap blink effects.
