Who says life slows down as you grow older? Ellen Jaffe Jones is proof that it only gets better with age! She’s one of the top athletes in the country, an accomplished author, a coach, and was named one of the sexiest vegans over 50! She is living proof that thanks to a plant-based diet your golden years can be the best years of your life! She joins “The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll on the show to share her secrets to aging gracefully.
Plus, Dr. Vanita Rahman discusses a new study on the declining cardiorespiratory fitness of children and how an improved diet can help!

Vegan for 11 years. Now age 66. Lost 103 lbs. so far. We need vegan options and plant milks in schools, too. The dairy industry has a monopoly on providing milk products in public schools in many states.

Good for you, and you're right about the puss and blood juice that dominates schools. It's time to dismantle dairy.

Is she 67? She's great, and motivational for me at 53. I've totally given up on dating though. It's close to impossible to find men in NM...let alone vegan ones.

Dr Vanita’s message is much more important than speculation as to Ellen’s age. The majority of America’s children are in trouble if these families don’t get their nutritional intake and lifestyle together

I love your podcast and I love the information that you're giving out cuz it's very important. I've been doing my best to follow a whole food plant-based diet I'm not at 100% but I'm getting there. I just want to say near death experience is the term used for people who have actually coded and died for a moment or longer and have come back after having incredible experience of experiencing love that is unimaginable seeing the light that they feel could be God or Jesus or any other enlightened soul and colors that we can't see here and the many of them don't want to come back because they're home. So referring to a person's illness that could have killed them is not the same thing as a near-death experience. Dr Raymond Moody is the gentleman who coined that phrase and wrote a book about it and it's a fascinating subject. Congratulations for having dropped so much weight and maintaining it ... that's a big deal

My psoriasis got bad. I didn't want to take pharmacy stuff so I tried elimination. I ate beef and in about 2 weeks my psoriasis went away and my mood/energy went up. 3 months later my blood test and weight all improved dramatically. Who would have thought the FDA would've lied to us.

@@lisengel2498 Lilykoi Hawaii has a great channel which explains so much about nutrition. She follows Doctor Greger for the most part but is also very knowledgeable about the other doctors and food, macronutrients, micronutrients, and so much. She has very easy, delicious recipes, beautiful Hawaii scenery, and a laid back attitude about much even though she had a lot of difficulties in her life. She knows what she's talking about. @@lisengel2498 Hi - I've been vegan for 15 years, eating mainly low fat, WFPB, following Dr Greger in the main - although I do like the odd bit of junk food. I tried to run over 40 years ago, but my knees became too painful, so I took up cycling instead. However, when the lockdown started, I thought I'd give it another go, and made such good progress that I was able to run 110km over 10 days in June, raising money for an animal sanctuary. Since I started running this time, I've had no aches or pains - and I got stronger every day during my challenge. Now I aim to run about 20k a week, hoping to run a half or full marathon when Covid allows. BTW, I'll be 83 next month. :) And your English is fine!
