Man, a pressure washer would make short work of that.... But would also probably make short work of some of the more delicate bits in there, like the wire insulation. Not to mention the added fun of freezing cold mist flying everywhere.

I’ve worked at a generator repair/rewind facility, they use what’s basically a pressure washer with hot water to wash away all the gunk along with this Hotsy brand deagreaser then place the stator in an oven from 12 or more hours to dry then prep to assemble buff the fits, paint and start assembly after all the machine work/ rewinding is done

God do I wish these were more the classic Captain's Blog style videos. While the short videos are cool, I love the raw run and gun style that showed a whole days' worth of events. My hunch is the people you're working with aren't so keen on getting a camera in their face or being recorded all day.

My videos tend to be a lot more polished now. This is mainly because my life is a lot more boring these days. I don't have the constant barrage of things going on, and I don't want to make boring videos. If my life ever gets video worthy again I shall most likely make more of the Captain's Blog style videos. I miss it too, they're a lot easier to edit. ;) But my life is much quieter these days.

@@SamSitar -- I'm sure there are some parts you don't want to wear excessively but steam would dissolve the grease and dirt pretty fast and evaporate quickly leaving everything pretty dry. I just got done reviewing your disclaimer statement. I must say that I am very impressed with your legal counsel. They certainly know how to cover all the bases. However, that being said, I did notice one little omission that I am afraid I am going to take advantage of. You failed to mention the provision that "No good deed shall go unpunished". This little faux pas has left you utterly exposed. Unfortunately, this is going to cost you. You may have a solid legal team but mine is better. I have a group of lawyers (Dewy, Screwem and How) that are so good that they can get a sodomy charge reduced to following to close. So be on the lookout for a major corporate take over of the Chris Boden Empire coming your way someday soon...
