But if you're tapping the center, is the middle 0V or 120V? I guess the primary and secondary coil are not coupled, so the 0V ends up at 0?

Shotgun my a$$! I’ve witnessed a drop out fuse blowing up and it sent a shower of sparks 30 feet to the ground and it spread 40 feet wide. It sounded like a small cannon.

Some diagrams would have been helpfull....😂. I had to install a rotary phase converter in my garage for 3 phase power. I was skeptical at first but the thing worked flawlessly for many years. Thats pretty cool!!

Do those blink when the line doesn't have power? One night when my power was out i went for a drive to let my phone charge. When i got to the main road i noticed a red flashing light on each power line.

2 phase is just 1 wire one side then coil 1 wire other side halving the voltage ⚡✨⚡✨ and then 3rd phase wire just returns ground or wait 2 coils or 1 coil ? how do you get a 3rd 🦵🏼? is 2 legs of 1 side of coil and 1 on the other? wouldn't that increase amps and resistance in the side with less or smaller conductors aka wire?🤦🏼♀️ dang riddles now i gotta check my basics handbook again 😂 if this confuses you up vote if it don't comment ❤

The Japanese equipment that we assembled had a spot to put a LOTO on main cabinet but you could open the door and turn on main disconnect easily. So we had to go upstream, they didn't like that. F off doesn't translate well into Japanese.

In Germany every household gets 3 Phases 400 V for Boilers Electric Ovens and some old electric heaters. And for 230 V applications we just use one phase against neutral (grounded center point of star transformer). To prevent uneven loads, 230 V circuits are evenly distributed across all 3 phases. And that's pretty cool!

Here in Australia, we have 230V phase to neutral, single phase supply. To balance the phases on the distribution system, each house is connected to a different phase. Unit blocks, most commercial, and industrial sites are supplied with 3 phase. Here's where we, differently, have a lot of 2 phase installations.....rural areas. Properties are far apart, and the supply authorities insist on a 2 phase supply. Usually, everything on the property is connected as a single phase circuit, except the cooking range. Cookers in Australia are designed with a link to make the appliance single phase, or 2 phase and neutral, with the load distributed evenly between the 2 phases.

I think this is only true the way he explained it on a single phase wye connection. A single phase delta connection comes off two of the three primary phases and therefore is a phase to phase connection.
