20 mins ago I new nothing about scooter maintenance. Now I know how to change spark plugs, remove the exhaust to remove the back wheel and how to change the oil on my new (secondhand) 2011'Piaggio Fly. Good stuff.

Hi Mitch, good to say hello to you, I´m a big fan of your videos. Today I have a question for you, between the Aptilia SR125 and the Honda New Elite 125 (both scooters) wich one do you think is better for city droving from home-work-home, somethig like 16 km (10 Mi) each way? In Chile, the Aprilia is 9-10% more expensive, but this apart, what can you advice me? Thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad english ;-) Alvaro.

Hi Mitch. When putting the new spark plug in, I cross threaded the new plug and now the threads are bad on the cylinder head. Ugh! Is there a technique you would recommend to re-thread the hold on the cylinder head. I hate to take the bike to a repair shop. I'm sure it would be costly to repair. I have a 2008 Piaggio Fly 150. I'm not confident in removing the whole engine to do the repair. Thanks for any advice. -Skip

I own the same scooter. Be careful when you change the spark plug, cause the very narrow space where spark plug is located. There are 2 risks; the first risk is that when you start to "turn into" the thread spark plug , you could do this in crooked way, damaging the thread!!!! The second risk is that when you start to screw spark plug in the thread, spark plug can fall inside the plastic enclosure for air cooling. In this case, retrieve the spark plug using spun iron to which you can connect magnets. If you are unfamiliar with mechanical operations, have an expert mechanic or a Piaggio dealer to do the operation. Don't forget that the author of this video is very expert, maybe you could not be the same. Excuse me for my imperfect English...

Love these videos! Mitch does a great job. However, this is alot harder than it looks. There is little to no room to get your hands in there and if you drop the plug down in the plastic housing that surrounds the cylinder head it is disastrous. This ended up taking hours to complete. It really is a crazy poor design for an item that needs constant attention. They must have been trained at the Porsche design school.

What a crap piece of positioning for something that is changed on a regular basis! There has to be a better placement for access to the spark plug on a scooter than that! I'm glad my step daughter has a two-stroke with a plug you can get to! But then, It is Italian and they're never the best at designing something practical if it doesn't look cool! Right? Good instructional vid though!...:-)
