Opethy....but for sure, not Opeth! Enjoyed this quite a lot (thanks to Mark), and glad you got around to doing it! When it's good Prog/Metal you'll not lose me with a long play, just my style! Brave band to use up so many quality song ideas in one song!

Ipeth lovepeth thispeth. I do know what you mean though, is it brilliant or is it derivative? Or can it be both? You said something at the beginning that I've thought as well, that Opeth has become a genre. So I guess you could say "There you go, there's a classic example of the Opeth genre." And yep, I'm getting it.

oh, I liked it a lot of course, very "Opeth" sound, it looks like guys from Piah Mater wanted Opeth to release new death metal based album, didn't get it and decided to make their own at least it doesn't sound like a complete rip-off in that song for instance, I have some problem with Soen because of their love to Tool's material :D

Yes, they very sound like Opeth. I stumbled on this band in the search of good metal on the internet. I listened, recognized the sound, read the comments and saw the name of Opeth very often. I agree with that, but I also recognize big talent in these dudes. Good analyses. I will keep on searching for good (in my opinion) metal and I'm sure to sent you an e-mail with a new suggestion in a while🙂🙃

Agreed on the being torn part! It's so Opeth but yet not and with all that effort - it still sounds a bit... "bare", for lack of a better word. Then again, it's hard to try to match the genious that is Mikael Åkerfeldt. Good effort but I'll stay with the original. Also - I'd love to hear your thoughts about Woormwood - "Av lie och börda". It's in Swedish but with subtitles. And it's got quite the story to it!

Opeth. Nothing else to say, Opeth. Got another recommendation to add to the list: -Aeverium "What About Me" (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLqhhLeAzqq1kZc.html) not super extreme metal, but they pull off the combo vocals of a clean woman plus clean/gruff/shouted man really well. I also just realized I've recommended a lot of bands that start with 'Ae' (Aether Realm, Aephenamer, now Aeverium), maybe I have some sort of bias toward it.

After reviewing your back catalogue of reactions, I'm happy to see it seems you don't pander to the what's popular crowd as I found only 2 Nightwish, 2 Band-Maid and 3 Jinjer reactions. Except for Babymetal though which you've done too much of. You must really like them. I'm happy to see what I consider a lot of obscure bands in your reactions such as National Suicide, Exarsis, Blizzard Hunter, Starkill, Thundermother and Ghoul Patrol. I mean Ghoul Patrol? No way, I can't believe anyone else on the internet knew about that band/song. Plus, there's a lot of bands that I've never even heard of such as this one. We need more channels like this!
