Piccolo is FINALLY getting a new transformation! In the recent trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, "Ultimate Piccolo" has been revealed. What exactly is this new transformation and what is Piccolo's role in the movie? Let's talk about it!

People tend to forget that Piccolo is a self-taught prodigy and has never had a teacher before, so everything he's learned, he's learned on his own. So him unlocking his own potential makes sense to me. But another possibility is that Dende could've done it for him. We know he's in the movie, and Dende witnessed both Gohan and Krillin have there potential unlocked by Elder Guru. So it wouldn't be that surprising if he learned how to do it as well.

That’s true, it would be interesting to see if Dende picked up that ability. As for him tapping into his own power, yeah it definitely makes sense for his character. I’m very curious to see what happens but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s off screen and never explained.

I like that Piccolo gets the Ultimate Form too like Gohan it helps them both grow as a duo like Goku and Vegeta. Elder Kai unlocking Piccolo's potential makes sense to me I mean before the TOP (48 hour time period.) Elder Kai talk to Goku about doing it for him, but didn't have enough time since it would take a day.

For sure, I’d love for Piccolo to stick around and remain at a consistent level with Gohan! Plus you’re right, there’s a whole lot of time where Piccolo could’ve just went and had it done.

I like to imagine the new transformation looks so subtle because Piccolo is subtle himself and is not a show-off.

I like this form tbh but I wish they did more with its anatomy which is fine the whole new yellow color awesome but at the same time it's kinda like here you go we changed his skin color to reflect his strength

I think it would've been cool if we saw his antennas levitate towards the sky on top of the skin color change, just to give it some extra flair.

What i learned from this is cell has no excuse to be able to not become yellow. Saiyans can turn yellow Frieza can become yellow Piccolo can become yellow

No offense, but if Piccolo had this form earlier, he would have stood a better chance in the tournament of destroyers and power.

I agree, him having it earlier would’ve helped. But if you’re saying that cause of my comment about “maybe he gets it in the manga,” I was meaning he’d probably get it between the Moro/Granolah Arcs and the start of this movie, not anytime before that. There’s still a few years before the Granolah arc catches up to when Super Hero is supposed to take place if thats what you’re talking about.

I'd love to see a mini arc or something focus on Zalama and the super dragon balls. THAT would be the ideal place for Piccolo to shine imo.

Will potential unleashed is not really a transformation but a power up state.

That's fair but the Potential Unleashed state is kind of a gray area when compared to other power-up states like Kaioken or the "Super Saiyan Power" thing that fans came up with. The Kaioken is a straight up technique and the SSJ Power is, at it's core an animation error, but it could be seen as a transformative power-up, just like the Potential Unleashed state. Most people tend to call it a transformation cause we see Gohan go in and out of it at times like he would a form.

@@InnovativeJdawg Super Saiyan is a transformation that is unique only to the saiyans, what I mean is that potential unleashed is a state that brings out that said potential within the individual Beyond normal limits, if Gohan intend to get a new power up then he might have to push his power even further than that.

Apparently the actual name is "Potential Capacity Liberation" according to a translation from a figure of the form. King Piccolo is a cool nickname though, I like the idea of Piccolo's power-up coming from something of the past. I saw somewhere that this form could be looked at as Piccolo becoming the "Nameless Namekian" that split into King Piccolo and Kami.

Its the nameless namekian comes form DragonBall this piccolo form is the original form for piccolo when he is try powered up.

nemecians are not like humans or sayins they do not have a physical change in there form unless they will it and they only strech but a unleashed namekian is a super namekian wihc lord slug was

Something interesting is that we actually did see Piccolo grow big like Lord Slug, he used the form against Goku in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. It would be cool to see again, but I’m curious to see what they plan on doing with this new form

What form he looks exactly the same lol plus he shouldn't even need a form he's literally the Earth God and has been since dbz. In db super zamasu demonstrated that power level of kai is close to ssb or rosé. So piccolo been a boss hes all that plus he has nail fused in there too
