3 жыл бұрынHow could we ignore a stick shift pick up cranking out 700hp thanks to a screaming LSA blower? (If the answer wasn’t obvious…we couldn’t) Initially meeting at Bandimere Speedway, we caught Cory in the middle of the overwhelming excitement from squeezing out a pass at the VERY LAST SECOND of Day 1 at Rocky Mountain Race Week. Cory’s wild story made the rest of the weeks adventures possible as he wouldn’t have been able to compete in race week if not for his incredible determination. All of this made us super excited when we ran into him at the Kansas Airstrip Attack where he was making some 1/2 mile passes!

Good for him for getting it done but using that as a budget, i come up with dozens of rear ends available in either Denver or DFW. Loads of ring & pinions available, complete carriers, complete rears. Then there is ford rear ends if you want an upgrade in the same ring and pinion size range. Or Dana 44 would be in this range, since you just need to go down the track, a rear end swap is pretty straightforward. Even if the wheel pattern is different, 100% there are people with spare sets on a 5x4.5 pattern all around him. I mean, from an off-roading perspective, i almost consider that rear to be about scrap value. Point is, in that community, you could probably get someone to just give you one. If you are paying money for it, no need to stress about it, take a breath, consider where else can i find one and what else can i use? Oh there’s a whole bunch of options.

@@beardedforlife3740 Sure, it’s “fast” for the categories he has placed himself in... but overall that is NOT a fast vehicle. Argue it any way you want... but I still feel he would be a fantastic driver of a much more capable machine. The point you’re overlooking is that if he is capable of sending that pos down the track with good times, and reliably, while shifting... he has the potential to be a great pilot for the vehicles that can go much faster. It’s simple. Domt take everything so literally and to your own definitions. In a world where vehicles go more than twice the speed he’s going... he is SLOW by those terms. If YOU want to classify this into subcategories where his truck is the main focus of the category... sure he may be fast but as I said before... in the grand scheme of racing... he can go MUCH faster in a better equipped platform. Now that I’ve explained that multiple times... I hope you can understand my original comment a little better. Forgive me... I’m still getting used to explaining things in such detail to the white knight limp wrist turbo Ds that seem to frequent the KZfaq comment section. Have a stellar day.

That was awesome and we got to see it all. Thanks for staying with the truck thru the 5 or 6 days. It was so worth watching thanks again and way to go, now if he would just learn how to speed shift a stick for racing he would be real surprised at the numbers he'd get. I think that it has a. 155 in it. Good job

Daaaaamn!!! Nice truck bro, makes me miss my 86 short wide so much! 454 stuffed up front and 4.11 posi out back. Had a lightly worked turbo 350 though, so best et i could pull in was a sad 14 flat. Mustang GT eater though, all day! And the true dual thru 40 series flowmasters dumped right behind the cab, gearhead symphony! Love it!!! So rad!

My buddy used to have an late 80's era 2-door short bed (stepside) Chevy truck with a 350 and a stick from the factory. It was hella fun and we had plenty of tight drag races with stock camaros and mustangs. This kid's truck reminds me of that truck and those good ole days when we thought a stock Chevy truck was "fast" lol
