Another good question to ask is what the practice's policy is on vaccinations. Do they accept patients who have refused vaccines? In other words, if your baby isn't old enough for certain vaccinations, is there a chance he or she could be exposed to something from an unvaccinated child or parent at the pediatrician's office?

Very informative…back in the day, I had my pediatrician selected two months ahead my due date. So glad I did; my son was born with too much phlegm on his lungs. My pediatrician was called in the night I gave birth to consult on baby’s immediate problem. He was the nicest doctor!!

Great video! We interviewed our pediatrician before our daughters birth and I’m glad we did. We had a whole paper full of questions and the doc said he prefers when patients are prepared and have questions so that was good.

I really lucked out. My primary care doctor whom I have seen for ten years has also been able to see my children. She is amazing and lovely.

Wasn’t even thinking about selecting a specific pediatrician! With our insurance most of our doctors have just been assigned to us and I’m an easy going person so I never cared too much. I’m 19 weeks pregnant and looked into this now! And my insurance DOES let me select a pediatrician! Now I’m looking at all of them and trying to find one that fits my family best, thank you for all of this helpful information!

Hi! I love your content! I'm wondering if you can do a video on "preparing for pregnancy?" For example, I'm not pregnant yet and I'm already looking for a midwife and obgyn because I want to have time to research without it stressing me out during my pregnancy. I'm also already taking prenatals because I learned that's good to do 3-6 months before getting pregnant. I've watched lots of your videos and I'm already training my dog to different. I feel like these are things people often don't think about and I'm sure there's more out there. Thank you!

So I liked the dr who visited us at birth, his practice is less than 10 min away, and a friend of mine brings her 3 kids there. Initial visit was okay, we saw the female dr & she was fairly brief, didn’t ask all these ques, also the office was def outdated which I didn’t love. No designated sick/well waiting areas. Can’t tell if I’m being too critical! I’m horribly indecisive. Wish you could help irl😩

I was definitely interviewing pediatricians when I was 38 weeks pregnant. 😂 Would not recommend waiting that long!

I think safe sleep and carseat safety need to be harped on more. I see so many unsafe situations and when I try to politely educate, I'm usually met with hostility and moms saying it's their parenting choice or grandparents saying "well back in my day" ugh 😑

Could you do a video on IUGR? I'm due in October but my baby is quite small. Yet, I have GD. Which I thought babies were usually bigger with GD...

How does it work when the baby will be on Parent B's insurance but Parent A will be taking baby to most visits? What extra things should parents be thinking about when interviewing pediatricians and the logistics for the first appointment?

How do we make sure the baby is warm while sleeping, if we won't use any baby blankets?
