I headed over to Royal Enfield in Valencia to pick up a Royal Enfield Classic 350 for a couple of days, checked out the dealership and then off for breakfast and the beach.

I bought my Interceptor at that dealership a year ago. For any non Spanish speaking expats here there's a really helpful English guy called Mathew working there. He helped me out far beyond just buying the bike. By the way... my bike's been fantastic, I was a triumph rider back in the UK, no regrets on the switch, I use it every in Barcelona.. just turned 15k on the clock. Great show... keep them coming.

Why did you switch from Triumph to Enfield?
@user-kv1sq2sn1c
@user-kv1sq2sn1c 10 ай бұрын
I saw an Interceptor from a distance and mistook it for a Bonneville. So did the usual research and read great things about the new REs. In fact I couldn't find a single bad review. So I went for it. My 07 Bonneville was a nightmare for rusting chrome although like Freddie I loved it and would have bought it to Spain if it were more straight forward. I will never slag off Triumphs though, I still live them,@@dlmp70

Bought mine 2 months ago at that dealership. Matthew was still there, and also a lady who speaks English very well. Buying a motorcycle in Spain is very different from buying in Holland. Lots of red tape, but less tax, so in the end well worth while.

And the ongoing running costs of the Royal Enfield should be reasonable also, particularly if you do your own servicing. I own a H-D and pay a mechanic for 2 services a year, but I'd do my own if I had the Classic 350). After 8 years, the Classic 350 would have paid for itself in the savings of servicing it myself. By then, I think 20HP might be all I need. Furthermore, the less powerful bikes won't wear out tyres as quickly as the more powerful machines, so a saving there also. And smaller width tyres don't seem to cost as much. But if I sold my H-D, I'd probably never be able to afford to buy back into the brand again, so I'd better keep it.

Engagement. That's what I've found. I've become so used to just twisting the throttle - in almost any gear that the mere fact that on my Classic 350 you have to think about more. Energy conservation comes into all the time too - maintaining progress and not scrubbing off speed with lazy braking. It's just fun and actually reminds me of my experience of bikes many years ago 😊

@@SimonQuirk same here, my shadow must weigh as much as Freddie! I have 4 bikes and am used to an fj1200, 900 fire blade and 900 hornet so the interceptor is way down on power and performance. I wanted something different for A road relaxed cruising so am giving myself a bit of time to adjust. I keep coming back to the 1200 speed twin but my plan was to use the interceptor as a base for a custom build to modify the looks, reduce weight and increase performance. An 865cc conversion would be perfect but expensive, minor work is a few hundred pounds so quite feasible but I'm wondering if it would be better to just go for a used speed twin. Tough call to make!

Hi freddie, great video as per usual! I own a "99 Honda CB250. Amazing work horse of a bike, hasn't skipped a beat, cheap to run, guaranteed to start every time, even has a choke for those cold mornings, no modification with original stickers and even still has the toolkit it came with. I bought it off a retired honda motorcycle mechanic who revives bikes in his free time. Mine had been left at the dealership for years by a local farmer who never picked it up. Only 26 000kms on it when i picked it up. Little bit of TLC, lick of paint by the mechanic and happily became my first bike! Cheers, Dom

You said it Freddie, "and it's slow, does it matter". Well, I didn't think so when I bought mine last year but sold it soon after realising I missed the grunt above 80km/h... It really does wear thin if you frequent any road above 100km/h 😕. Buy the Harley. Better to have some horses in the stable if and when the moment arrives (and oh man it does arrive😊).

Perfect Sunday viewing. Royal Enfield have hit pretty much every nail on the head in terms of what matters. Small is beautiful. Less is more. No wonder they are doing so well. Buy and keep for 3yrs, sell with minimal depreciation. Honda cb250 from the mid 80's. The nighthawk in America. Belly engine. Unbreakable. Super production. Thank you. Ride safe.

One year in, we all just love our Royal Enfield Classic 350's as much as day one. Simply the most fun in 50+ years of riding. I've had all sorts, and mostly sports bikes, but this one hits all the spots that make me indeed smile. I can just sit and stare at it all day. People who gripe about lack of power just don't seem to get it. I could buy any bike I want at this stage, and the one I have - only one - is the Royal Enfield Classic 350. If you haven't, take a test ride. I think you'll be hooked too! Cheers, and... Ride Safe 🙏🏼

I bought my 350 partly because of Freddie . I agree with you its the best bike ive had for years. Every time I take the cover off it to ride it to work I cant belive how beautiful it is and the sound is perfect. If it was twice the price id still want one lol

I absolutely love the Classic 350 & Freddie sums it up perfectly,if your into breaking the speed & sound barrier then don’t get a Royal Enfield there not designed for you! If you want a chilled out ride & a permanent smile on your face then visit a RE dealership & test one out! As always Freddie & Monica great video👍🏻😎

I got my super meteor 650 last sept , I am nearing 60 and it is unusual for someone of my age going for a bike ride, the reason is …a biker in you never die ..SM 650 is a sheer joy to ride , the only issue is it’s heavy , but once it takes off , you are a king on the road…

Just to let you know Freddie, I bought a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in July of 2023 after watching your review of the bike. I was so confused between the Hunter 350 and the Meteor 350. But after your review I went for the Meteor 350. Keep up the good work.

I admire your enthusiasm and wish you many happy years of biking. One thing I will say is that you should always ride in what you are prepared to see smeared up the road if the unimaginable should happen. When working as a Motorcycle courier I had a experienced colleague who decided to leave his leathers off due to hot weather. The next time I saw him his arm was bandaged and in a sling after he had come off on an unexpected patch of gravel!

Can't agree more with you after I helped a family having an accident sliding with the motorcycle in India. I know that it's annoying in many circumstances but so much safer. I'm living in a country where it's common to ride the motorcycle in shorts etc but you don't want to see them after a little sliding.

Hi Freddie and of course Monika. Smiles per mile is a true statement, I picked up my Meteor 650 in celestial blue a week ago and it’s absolutely great and just makes me smile. I started looking for something nearer to the Bullet as it was the first bike I ever went on with my grandfather in the early 1960s and wanted something to just poodle around the Cotswolds on. After looking and trying the 350 range I’ve opted for the Meteor 650, you have to review it ASAP, but get ready for sore cheeks from all the smiling. Keep up the great work on the information and reviews.

Hi Freddie, I commented after your meteor post last year and just to say, it’s still putting a smile on my face every time I ride it and I too am looking forward to testing the Super Meteor. I’ll almost certainly purchase BTW .. the USP supply is under the clutch lever but beware the output isn’t enough to keep an iPhone going with Sat Nav. Something RE should address. Lovely video as usual and keep them up. Andrew
