Great video. I watched this a long time ago when I was first learning. But then just rewatched and oh my goodness -- yes! I forgot so much important info from this video!

Happy to hear that it's helpful all over again :) Yes, repetition is key to deepen your understanding and execution.

9 out of 10 dinks for me are long. It is a very delicate balance between overshooting and hitting the net. Annoying as hell. You make it look sooo easy. Great video.

Keep you swing short and out in front of you. Not about power.

1. Continental grip 2. Consistent stroke (short swing path in front) 3. Use your legs 4. Net clearance (1 to 1.5 feet) 5. Hit into the kitchen

5. Hit it at their feet. (If they've stepped back, you don't want to hit into the kitchen but want to keep them back if you can).

The small tennis like step at legs - doesn’t that waste energy, especially on a speed up you might be caught in between doing that step and standing on the balls of your feet

Exactly! I was going to comment on the same thing when I heard him talking about that. The V between the thumb and the first finger should be at the top of the handle (or the 12'clock position), like you were holding a hammer. Using the handshake grip (Easter Grip) when doing a backhand with the wrist in a neutral position will cause the paddle face to open up slightly, whereas a Continental grip will keep the paddle perpendicular to the ground with a neutral wrist.
