It is hard to fathom that a pick up truck cost $100,000. Insanity. In 2011 I bought a GMC Dinali Dooley for $44,000 out the door. Crazy.

Enjoyed your video. picked up the same colored-truck sans AEV package this week and loving it! I'm doing lots of studying but do you think you can explain or better yet make a video on various ways to properly use the recovery points on that AEV bumper? Thanks!

Interesting thought. Those recovery points are really meant to add a shackle to them. WIth a u-shaped shackle, then you can simply run rope through them.

Thanks Tim. Those staggered shocks help prevent "axle wrap" and wheel hop. Common issue with leaf springs. I love those AEV bumpers. Is there a way to order the assist bed handle in a truck that does not have the pro flex tailgate?

Wheel hop. Dang it. I knew that one. My mind went blank. I'm not sure on the assist handle. I just checked the GMC accessories page and it isn't listed. I'm sure you can get one from the parts counter, but if it didn't come from the factory, I'm not certain how you would mount it. For example, I'm not sure the mounting bracket is installed if you don't order this item.

@@Pickuptrucktalk the same bolt holes are in the bed,(for the handle) regardless if the truck has proflex tailgate or not. I'm just not sure if it has a RPO code that can be used if ordering a truck, if it doesn't have a proflex. I knew you knew wheel hop, we all have brain fade now and then. Your truck does not have proflex, take a look at left rear stake body hole in your bed, you will see bolt holes around it, where you could mount an assist handle.

@@heep34987yt no not at all, if I had the money I might be part of that demographic. I just think many take exception to the "off road" aspect and think it should be more basic while fulfilling that role. But it really only works as a profitable product if it's also targeted towards luxury shoppers.

I reserved an Edition 1 Canyon AT4X last November with the whole craziness going on with the strikes the dealership was having delays. So they offered me this exact same truck with the dealer markup of $16K for a $107,000 total. I walked away and found my same exact Edition 1 that someone changed their mind. that truck better have the KITT feature on it.

I've tried and failed to it in the past. Copyright issues, music that has been compressed, recording issues. Just a lot of stuff gets in the way.

Question, Tim: When I press the “auto” button, the HUD shows “AWD”. Is there a significant difference between auto 4wd and AWD, and does it matter during normal operation?

I'm just not crazy about the multi function tailgates. I hope they never become standard on trucks...😬....(I'm sure they won't... 😆)

I have the multipro tailgate on my 2023 GMC SIERRA SLT and it makes getting into and out of the bed much easier as well as accessing what’s in the bed. But I’m 70 so maybe when your a geezer you might change your mind. I’m glad it’s an option.

It’s allowed me to haul 10’ pvc pipe with the tonneau cover in place without having to tie anything. It’s fine I guess, but I did drop it on the ball one time.

@@NMTRUCKER Haha. Yeah not 70. In my 50's and can still jump around like mad. I just like mostly standard gear. The more complex they make something the more issues may arise later. Just never thought a tailgate needed so many amenities.

The house I grew up in in the late 1980s had 3700 ft.² and my parents paid $88,000 for it. Pretty crazy Bidenflation has done this to literally everything.

Those ratings on the capacity sticker don’t make sense. Gooseneck ratings are lower than conventional? 1006 payload minus 870 tongue leaves 130 pounds for everything in the truck- no way ( truck should at least have one adult driver and a tank of gas)..

I think it was simply baked into the development for their newer trucks whereas this current platform was not developed with larger tires in mind. If that turns out to be the case, we can likely expect the next generation trucks to follow the trend.

I have the 21 Sierra SLT with the 5.3/8 speed combo. Gas mileage at a constant 70-75 has gotten as high as 33 mpg. In town with no load has gotten as low as 16. Cornering is pretty decent but I associate that with everything being fairly new. No body roll to speak of. My only dislike are the Ranch shocks that GM puts in these. They are junk. Very bouncy over bumps and rough roads. I have new bilsteins on order.
