Thanks guys. Patrick is working on the box right now, so in a couple week, the inside of the box should be done, and we will start on the outside marquetry. We just received our 1000€ in bone veneer and string inlay, so we are ready to go...

Thank you. We use 1/16 sawn veneer. We buy it from Europe, in our case, Georges et Fils in Bagnolet near Paris, but we also saw some of our own, for the species we can find. The dovetails are done, I will try to remember for next time to do a video. thank you

Patrice how thick is the veneer you are working with? I can see why the piece by piece method is used on this project. Would love to see how Patrick cuts the hidden corner dove tails maybe you could do a short video of it. A pleasure as always Patrice

Merci. Oui, j'étais à Ivry avant. Je n'ai pas pu retirer mon vieux website. J'ai contacté free, mais il n'ont pas répondu... J'aimerais vraiment le retirer, j'ai au moins un email par semaine et je n'ai plus personne à qui référer.

Thank you Patrice, I have some Maple that has the grain I am looking for an I was hoping I could dye it red is there something I should do to help the dye penetrate or stabilize the wood? Great work.

Vos photos sont admirables, c'est excellent de comprendre comment sont assemblés ces panneaux. Vraiment splendide.Dans les pianos apparemment les meubles marquetés étaient faits a l'emporte pièce (pianos Anglais surtout) A quoi ça pourrait se voir ?

Are you cutting the background separately? How do you get it to look so tight with no kerf from the saw? I've only done double bevel marquetry and have never seen your technique.

This is a traditional french technique called piece by piece, Each piece is cut separately following with accuracy the design. The background is also cut separately. The advantage is the possibility to do multiple copies, up to 8 with sawn veneer and up to 12 with sliced. The accuracy is needed if you cut your pieces to small you have kirfs, if you cut them to big your picture will not fit together. je vais me renseigner. normalement vous y avez accès pour modifications, alors vous pouvez sans doute effacer l arborescence... DOmmage pour les stages tampon, ça m'aurait plu histoire de me corriger, progresser... je vous réécrit quand j aurai la réponse ... cordialement - Isaac Oleg

C'est difficile de les joindre (Free) sans etre abonné. Je vais essayer par le biais dun ami (j'ai un peu le meme problème que vous en fait !) Bien cordialement.
