And so you opened your mouth and you started to sing....... "FoR PETERSBURgAhh"
-Slight TW,, there are flashing colours and images in the animatic
-This took a long time to make hahaa
-First few frames look pretty inconsistent ngl
-Any "animation" I did here is very mediocre and I didn't even trY
-The first song I heard from comet was The Duel because of an animatic made by "qookh" and I just always drew anatole with eyelashes and generally in a more feminine way because of that lol
-I realise that there's a lot of ideas going on towards the end and I tried my best to make them understandable :')
-If anyone's wondering, I never really interpreted the line "Amuse yourself with women like my wife" as a hint of an incestous relationship between anatole and helene, but pierre telling anatole to amuse himself with women who take part in the same pleasure-living lifestyle as helene (and himself). I know explaining interpretations that were supposed to be visually communicated and left for the audience to find out makes them 100x more interesting to find but y'know just thought I'd clarify in case I did my job horribLy
-I really wanna make a Sonya & Natasha animatic or a Natasha & Anatole animatic, but I barely have any time to make them now since I need to get back to my studies :'D

I love the "Amuse yourself with women like my wife" comment being accompanied by a flashback. This whole thing is very well-done; this is one of my top three favorite songs in the show, and you absolutely did it justice.

I always thought the starting beat for Bad Men sounded very similar to the starting beat in Natasha & The Bolkonskys hahaa-

This is amazing! I really like the effects and how you draw Anatole. I'm trying to figure out the flashing green images, maybe someone needs them or knows more. First two ones appear to be Anatole slapping a table and someone else in the background. I assume that's either during the party in The Duel or him with with Dolokhov in Preparations. Next is a sequence of Natasha looking in a mirror and preparing poison. By the word "scoundrel" is a shot of Marya calling Anatole a scoundrel in The Abduction. After that is Anatole kissing Natasha in The Ball. Then is a shot of Anatole and presumably Dolokhov shouting at each other (this one's more likely from Preparations) After that is Natasha poisoning herself (at the end of it it's still Anatole and Pierre, just in green)

Thank you!! With the flashing images, my idea was to show scenes that led up to that moment (where Anatole snaps at Pierre), and also show Natasha trying to poison herself. You got all of them right, the first one was Anatole (Dolokhov in the background) waving his hand during The Duel,,,, because I thought the tune of the lines "Nevermind about that now" and "Well I don't know about that eh" sounded very similar and my interpretation of that was Anatole telling Dolokhov and Helene not to worry about the consequences in The Duel and how doing that made things worse for his and Natasha'a situation here,,,, I'll admit I could've made all of these ideas way more clearer, but I also wanted it to go with the electronic noises heard in the scene and wanted the main focus to be on what was happening with Pierre and Anatole----

Thanks for answering! That makes a lot of sense. I also think the lines "never mind about that now" and "well I don't know about that now" sound similar and are related. I really like how you chose scenes that connect with what Anatol is saying. Overall the effect of these images in sync with the music and the lines was pulled off very very well imo, no worries. I like this scene a lot and I feel like your interpretation really captured the 'energy' of sorts. Am excited about future the great comet animatics (If you can and want to make them of course, no pressure)! PS: is that a hadestown reference in the description? ^^

I appreciate this a lot :)))) I really do want to make more great comet animatics,,, the problem is that I don't really have the time at the moment to make another one but I do have many ideas for more animatics so hopefully I can get to them at some point!! Also yeS I'm glad that someone got the reference in the description haha!!

This is so cool? It’s super well done! I absolutely love how smooth the animation is when you do animate it. The expressions are well done and match the voices too. Honestly the great comet deserves more love, and so do you. Talk about underrated!

i love everything about this beautiful animatic omg!!idk where to start ok ok sO I especially love the expressions and the glitchy scenes! they perfectly captured the emotion of the music! i also love how you captured anatole and pierre . natashas face of fear as well oh my goodness and anatoles eyes are so pretty in this tooooo ! great job!

Love it overall, but I really wish people would draw Pierre as actually overweight, instead of just being broad chested

I remember when making this, I did actually try drawing him as stout and I thought it was clear/done right,,, turns out I didn't really draw it well :'DD (though there are a lot of issues with the way I drew the characters here and the anatomy so I get what you mean-)
