Really enjoyed this look into the Artist & his work. I Paint, but also photograph and write poems. Last year, I started an Epic "Colors", which took me to all kinds of research & color theory. I thought I would move thru each color one after another, of my choosing, trying to match up color with a season, bit it, like grieving, or saying goodbye, like our human nature, shifted from one color to the next. In the middle of Blue, I wrote for Black. So now, the depth of the writing has taken on new relationship.

I swear to god, If you have enough money buy some pieces from him, now is the time. When he passes away (hope its still long for that) they will not only sky rocket in price but will be so damn important to French art history.

The content is great. I love this artist. However it is really annoying thta English subtitles are covered with French subtitles most of the time.

This film made me think. I had been contemplating the vapidity of art and thought I had created the perfect analogy for the triviality of art as an accomplishment. Then this, this takes the cake.

Ce serait une porte de meuble de cuisine IKEA , qui crierait au génie ? Bon, je nettoie mon esprit , j’oublie IKEA ,je rends ma perception intelligente , mais là, c’est pire J’éclate de rire , je vois bien qu’on se fout de moi Tiens , cela me donne l’idée géniale d’aller à la cave barbouiller de peinture noire ma vieille table en Formica et de déclarer que je suis un génie Voilà, l’intelligence desoxyrybonucléééééiiiiqqqqueeee est appparruueeeee .

C'est évident que vous n'avez jamais vu (en vrai) un oeuvre de Soulages.

@@matasha8038 ah bon, j’ai vu en vrai beaucoup d’œuvres , mais de tels foutages de gueule , j’évite . Du barbouillis noir en vrai reste du barbouillis noir . Renoir , en pas vrai , ça reste très beau .

Le cadeau de l'art ne tient pas que dans l'œuvre finie, mais dans sa création, dans son contexte vis-à-vis de l'époque, dans les questions qu'elle pose. On peut ne pas aimer l'œuvre de Soulage - personnellement, j'adore - mais on ne peut pas nier que travailler la lumière sur le noir est un concept intéressant que personne d'autre n'a fait, ou en tout cas de la même manière.
