Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by Julian Assange's father Richard Assange, half-brother Gabriel Shipton and security and terrorism expert Will Geddes to discuss whether Julian Assange should be released or whether he should remain in prison for his leaking of Government documents over the Iraq war.
Gabriel believes the public is starting to condemn the over-classification of documents, as seen in recent scandals such as the dossier found in Donald Trump's Florida home and Joe Biden's in his car. This, he believes, is growing public support for people such as Julian who just wanted information that was hidden by the Government to come to light so the public can make their own minds up on those in charge. He adds that the public's lack of trust in governments has led more people to want to research and share Assange's story, where as before they might've been dismissive of it.

It's disgraceful that the UK is participating in this human rights abuse. Assange is being prosecuted under the US Espionage act which itself is a criminal violation of the United States own first amendment. Buy it goes even further. “It is virtually impossible to defend against the Espionage Act. Truth is no defence. In fact, any defence related to truth will be prohibited. In addition, he won’t have access to any of the so-called evidence used against him.

I wrote a letter of protestation at Assange's ongoing detention WITHOUT CHARGE to your then Home Secretary Priti Patel, outlining precisely what the Assange family are asserting in this video. Never got a response. If you are British, prepared to die for what you believed Britain stood for, maybe time to think again? Because you may need to fight (lay down your life even) to protect your family and friends from what Britain and the West has become. These are evil days; and we can NAME the protagonists surrounding this and other ongoing betrayals. We know who these treacherous 'elected' individuals are. Time to vote for a different party. You in the UK have at least two small but viable alternatives: Reform, and the Social Democrats. We aren't quite so lucky in 🇮🇪.

The man is a traitor, and his sentence reflects the gravity of his crime. His type are iconic: whistleblowing, self-delusional farts who see it fit to get the wooden spoon out and stir up the bzllshit without a thought for the future harm it causes in the real world. The same scenario happened during the 40's, when top U.S scientists, led by the brilliant physicist Oppenheimer, worked on the 'Manhattan Project', that is the building of the atomic bomb, which entailed the spending of millions of dollars of U.S. tax payers' money in order to bring an end to the war that was dragging on in the pacific and bring the brutal Japanese to surrender. However, one of those scientists took it upon himself to reveal the secrets of the atomic bomb to the Russians; yet another traitor, this time from the murky midst of the past, whose twisted ideals led to the Russians producing their own atomic bomb in record time, thanks to the efforts of the United States. Moscow then went on to threaten the balance of peace between east and west, exponentially multiplying the threat of thermal nuclear attack against every living person in the western world at the whim of the ever sabre rattling Russians. Should this traitor be applauded for his shining example of 'free speech?' Should he be regarded as a martyr, putting the whole of the western world under the 'Damocles Sword' of the Russians? Well, I put it to you that Mr. Assange is just as guilty a traitor as the person that I have just described. A traitor to the western world, stirring up trouble as he saw fit, and mark my words, his actions will lead to further repercussions against innocent citizens.

Piers: I've followed this from the get-go, and in fact, Julian Assange offered to provide the information to the US department of state, in order to determine whether there was any information which might put any US intelligence source at risk. They ignored his offer, while, at the same time, giving the NY Times a green light to publish portions of the information. John Bolton and Mike Pompeo are dead wrong on this one. As a software developer, systems analyst for 40+ years, I was amazed at the thorough and accountable process Assange developed enabling whistle-blowers to make credible intel on government misconduct available to the public, just as the Pentagon Papers were made public. I appreciate that you enabled these interviews to expose what's going on. However, Assange may well die in the custody of the UK. If I may offer a suggestion, or perhaps a 'plea': Use your ability to publicize this issue, and ask the PMs of Australia & the UK to either demand that the US drop the charges, or explain why the US government feels it has the right to kill Julian Assange. Plan B: Ask King Charles (privately) to intervene with the UK PM, and ask him to release Assange to his family in Australia with or without the permission of our imbecile-in-chief. This incarceration (of a foreign national who never set foot in the USA) is an obscene blight on the honor of the United States, and in my view, rises to the level of a War Crime. To Hell with Trump & Biden (they're both guilty), and return this heroic man to his family. With all sincerity, Ted in Portland, Oregon.

@@meisievannancy Apologies for this, but I find that Piers doesn't seem to care much for follow-up on this story. I posted more info about the circumstances, and respectfully suggested that he (as a Journalist) should follow-up with the British PM on this matter -- only to find it deleted. So I'm posting the content as a response to your message to me. Hope you don't mind. (thx in advance). Tb Thomas 55 minutes ago (edited) Piers, you've got a lot of clout in the UK, and you've got a lot of listeners who trust your sincerity. Have you read any of the comments on this story? Just FYI, I did a quick search.... "WikiLeaks did not identify Manning as their source.[135][136][137] Army investigators found pages of chats on Manning's computer between Manning and someone believed to be Julian Assange.[110] Nicks writes that, despite this, no decisive evidence was found of Assange's offering Manning any direction.[138]" Then there's this: "www.nytimes.com/2017/01/17/us/politics/obama-commutes-bulk-of-chelsea-mannings-sentence.html" So the primary perpetrator of the 'espionage' had his sentence commuted 6 years ago. And yet, for some reason, we are supposed to believe that prosecuting Julian Assange is in the vital national security interest of the United States and the 'Free World'. Is there nothing you can do for Julian Assange and his family? Or do you believe he should be allowed to die in prison? The only political prisoner I can think of worse off than Julian is Alexei Navalny. How can anyone with the good fortune to be a citizen of a free-nation on this planet sit quietly by while these criminal incarcerations take place? What about the innocent journalists & civilians who were machine-gunned by US forces in Iraq? Does publishing that video justify lethal incarceration of a foreign national by the USA? By what right does the United States claim authority to charge him with espionage? We have a President who is himself guilty of long-term collaboration with the Chinese Communists. How can the UK justify holding Assange in solitary confinement for an ally which is itself thoroughly compromised? It would surprise me if you were not personally acquainted with the British PM and King Charles. Since you are a widely known journalist of great repute, would it be too much to ask that you contact one or the other of them and ask if they would be willing to discuss this matter with you? Thank you for your consideration. (Ted in Portland, OR).

It's not that simple. If you had a child in the armed forces, how would you feel if they died because someone had leaked some classified information about an operation they were in? There is a line here. There are good reasons for keeping some info secret. It's not all a conspiracy.

A female journalist in Europe asked him and he said "I don't believe in brm, they are not for me". Amazing how much people are willing to forget if the person is some they agree with politically.

They 'forgave' Bradley Manning. Freedom of press, public interest, exposing war crimes etc. - of course he's smeared but perhaps a Parliamentary petition could be started if not having been done already. And well done Piers Morgan and team for a series of mostly much needed interviews with necessary issues being discussed (sadly along with JP, capitulation a leader of a certain apartheid illegally occupying colonial nation state in respect of their oppression against Palestinians - who are Christian as well, wasn't so good).

The palestinians are a made up culture. Ever heard anyone speak palestinian? They speak ........ arabic like all Arabs. Jews have been living continuously for over 3000 years, all the way to the bronze Age, and Jerusalem has been it's capital since 1030BC. Assange is just another whiney lefty enriching himself off of others gullible enough to believe his nonsense. Why does he not talk of attrocities by Russian and Chinese military? Why did the Russian and Chinese government help him and Snowden? Both accepted money and help from the FSB and CPC agents to escape in return for information. Assange is an antisemitic racist dog.
