Piers Morgan Defends Rishi Sunak Bet: "I Tried To Stop People Being Mistreated!"

Piers Morgan says his bet with Rishi Sunak "still stands" after facing criticism for getting the Prime Minister to wager on whether he would get illegal immigrants on planes before the next election.
The pair shook hands after Piers said he would give £1,000 to a refugee charity if Sunak managed to make his Rwanda plan work.
Addressing the huge response the interview has had, Piers invites Paul Mason, Paula Rhone-Adrien and Isabel Oakeshott onto Piers Morgan Uncensored to address the biggest talking points of the exclusive.
Addressing the moment Piers told the PM about the horrific experience his mother had in an NHS hospital after suffering a heart attack, Isabel says she felt "triggered" by what she feels was Sunak's "lack of empathy".
However Piers then reveals that the Prime Minister has called his mum and sent her a bunch of flowers since their interview, telling his: "I don't think he's heartless."

I’m no Rishi Sunak fan but this interview is absolutely ridiculous!.. people react to tragic personal events very differently to others. I wouldn’t no what to say or do if someone was telling me that story whilst on camera and I’m not in charge of the country.. He probably felt quite awkward and uncomfortable and perhaps even slightly guilty.. The people on the panel have completely lost their minds. And the fact he went out of his way to make a phone call and sent Piers Morgan’s mother flowers as well is probably the perfect response I’ve seen the PM do. The fact the lady at the end said “we aren’t voting conservative because Rishi sent your mum flowers”🙄 yea state the obvious haha

I had a heartattack in January 2022 the ambulance arrived in 10 minutes, I was seen as soon as I arrived and up on a ward within 2 hours, the treatment was brilliant On the otherhand my 85 year old father had a stroke on Saturday was taken by ambulance to hospital within the hour the hospital phoned my 86 year old Mum to say they were sending him home and she could take him to the stroke clinic on Monday

This was a PR disaster for Rishi, directly supporting the opposition’s narratives of being weak and ‘out of touch’. He doesn’t know how to react to situations that his press team have not prepared him for and this interview clearly demonstrates the need to develop his interpersonal skills. Of course this interaction regarding the bet is no big deal and simply gives me the impression that people just comb through things for a sound bite and maniacally search for an excuse to become outraged or things to report and create opportunities for media coverage for the sake of it. He’s making a point about keeping him to account on a promise, and the outcome is a charity donation, he put him on the spot, and he’s agreed to make the point that he stands 100% behind what he’s saying. It’s really a reach to say it is insensitive and hurts working class people because they need more money for groceries.
