My vet had recommended to also mix some of the miconazole shampoo with water in a spray bottle to make the process much easier and rinse after! Made it so much easier for me and less time spent in the water/bath which means less stressful for them. I love how Tobi just sat still and ate after the process. Shows how much they know you care & trust you :)

Such a cute video seeing the piggies get pampered 🤗 I literally have to give my boy Noah, who I lovingly call Crusty, a belly bath every 4 weeks because his lazy self is constantly laying down and pee-pee’s all over himself 😒 I recommend Gorgeous Guineas pregnant sow conditioning shampoo for piggies that need to be bathed more often than normal since it’s gentle on the skin and less harsh, then finish off with their calendula lotion to keep the skin moisturized and ensure it doesn’t get irritated. My primary vet recommended them for Noah ☺️

The LA Guinea Pig Rescue actually recommends regular Head & Shoulders shampoo for fungal infections if you can't afford Miconazole. Baby shampoo is actually very drying for piggies and has harsh detergents in it. For regular baths, Gorgeous Guineas makes a great shampoo.

Austin you are the most amazing Ginnie dad. You give these beautiful animals the care they need. All your Ginnie pigs are adorable and beautiful but Ollie has stolen my heart. His presious. I've learnt so much from you being a Ginnie mumma myself of 4 Ginnie pigs two crest headed Smooth American pigs, one long haired and one who is white with black spots I forget their breed. Hi I really enjoy your channel. I have 2 boys. I want to know what is the best way to cut their nails. The back legs are easy, but they bite and make like a fist when I cut the front. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

You should give them pea flakes or Romain lettuce when you cut their nails,or you could maybe try wrapping them in a blanket

gave my 4 month old piggies their first bath yesterday, I started with my 3 yr old then did the calmer one, he handled it so well no jumping or anything, and my wriggly one didn't jump either, i think its safe to say they liked it!

Hello! I have a few questions!❤ how do you know whether the shampoo you are using for your Guinea pigs is bad? Also, we have had our Guinea pigs for 5 years now and we haven’t ever cleaned their ears, is it something we should be doing regularly? Thank you, love the video!

Thanks for sharing!! We have for piggies. I have one with long hair and she always get stuff stuck in it around her bottom area. Should I trim the hair in that area?

You absolutely can. If their hair is too long is can get matted and in the way. Just brush it out a little and use a scissors to cut some off.

Have you ever tried the hair buster on Amazon? I use it on my 2 rabbits and it works amazing on getting hair out especially during heavy shed months! Highly recommend. Also think about getting a high velocity hair dry for dogs, I use it on my angora, to help with mats and blowing out dandruff ! :))

The coconut oil is probably making his eyes get crusty like that in the first place. When I put oils on my face it always gets into my eye and makes it itchy, burny and watery.

He was a rescue pig, he lived in a very poor environment. I don’t believe Ollie has bumble foot, maybe slight urine scald though which I’m sure austin will treat accordingly

Hi! I really need some help one of my two Guinea pigs seems depressed he is around 4 and he is sleeping/hiding a lot. I have the oxbow treats and he used to get super excited when he heard the bag but now he dosent even eat it. I can’t tell if his breathing is normal but he isn’t wheezing and it isn’t loud. Please help these are my first piggies 🫶😢

Your Guinea pig is sick you need to carry him to the vet,you should also separate the non sick one so he doesn’t get sick

You shouldn’t bathe your Guinea pig only when they have mites,or their extremely dirty,other than that if their a bit smelly or dirty get a slightly damp rag and wipe them down with a little bit of baby soap and lukewarm water

Every 3-4 months it’s good to give them a bath with anti dandruff shampoo as it kills any fungal spores lingering on their skin or the roots of their hair and can prevent an outbreak of ringworm or other fungal diseases/infections. It’s also a good idea to bathe a New Guinea pig you’re adding to your pet family so if they have any ringworm you haven’t noticed or any other fungal spores you can stop it from going through your entire herd/collection.

Some pigs may need bathing whether it’s for routine maintenance to keep them clean, for example if they urinated on themselves and are very stained, or if they have things such as mites, etc. bathing is okay if done so properly and in moderation, so ideally 2-4 times a year max.

Baths are acceptable to give at least twice a year. Granted as long as you return them to their cage fully dry, otherwise you risk your pig developing a URI. This is as stated, and then some, in the video.

Thanks for this comment! I can't belive its so normal in the USA to do bathing for guinea pigs. Please don't do it until the vet say so! They fear and hate it and it's just not needed. "Tobi is dirty, so i bath him." What is this for a reason? Unbelievable. I'm from Germany, hope you understand m.
