This total body Pilates Mat class is a total body flow. As we move through core, bridge work, side body, and upper body work, we'll have a theme of rotation within the hip joint. The deep lateral hip rotators get a lot of love in this one!
If you're used to taking Classical Pilates classes, this will be a smidge different. I'm trained through STOTT, which is a contemporary, anatomy-driven approach - and then I put my own flair on top of that. :)

I'm so excited to do this tomorrow! I still have some lingering weakness from a hip injury a few years ago, and from, well, being postpartum, so I try to do hip focused exercises every day to stay strong and healthy. Thank you for your excellent teaching!

This is a great work! I am having a bit of trouble with my neck hurting during the side body work. Is this just normal and strengthening or is there any I can to do make that better?

If possible, use a mirror (or even film yourself on your phone) doing side body work and notice where you hold your head. Often, instead of keeping the neck moving in the same line as the rest of the spine, we tend to pull the top of the head up to the ceiling, which creates tension in that side of the neck. Think of having your head and neck continue the line of the mid-spine. Hopefully that'll help! :)
