You were absolutely right about everything. The pilot has the right to fly till the DH , then interrupt the approach if the weather isn’t better. He can even land but that would just mean he has violated the rules and the ATC can file a report.

That's right, I understand the pilot could have been more polite in the way he expressed it, but he was within his right to do so

@@FlyJV Morristown is within New York Class B Airspace which according to FAA Regs, you need ATC Clearance to operate in of which they can deny you, so doesn't that give ATC the right to deny clearance to shoot an approach if they feel weather is below minimums? Which they did here.

As explained in the video the approach ban point is 1000 ft above the aerodrome. A pilot could continue the approach up to 1000 ft even with the RVR or the visibility is below the applicable minima. He can only fly the final segment, i.e. fly past the Final Approach Fix (FAF) if the Decision altitude (DA) or the Minimum descent altitude (MDA) is more than 1000 ft above the aerodrome. However, if the reported RVR or Visibility falls below the minima after the pilot passes the 1000 ft, he could continue up until the DA/MDA.

You cannot shoot an approach if the weather is below minimums before you start the approach. If you’re inside the final approach fix and the weather drops below minimums you can continue the approach until you’re DA/MDA

Not much. Understanding the basic laws of physics should be enough. However, if you get the opportunity to study physics, do it. I suggest the following: Law of momentum. Understanding g-forces, Read this book: Stick and Rudder by Wolfgang Langewiesche
