I wonder if the lines still came back after a quilt was washed. I'm looking forward to someone testing that, to be honest. I use the crayola washable markers to mark quilting lines, and they wash out beautifully. Thank you for the review Melanie!

Hi Melanie, yes I looked into this sometime last year before buying and the offical video does show that a whole "erased" page of writing can be restored by placing in a cold ambient temp - freezer I believe. Another KZfaq site I subscribe to also says that these work better on lighter coloured fabrics, they can leave a feint light mark on darker fabrics, but I guess if sewing over these I.e. grid for quilting, then they probably won't be very noticeable. Thanks for all your tips and videos.

Loved the marking pen. I live in Thailand and don't know if I'll find it although the Pilot brand is sold almost everywhere here.

Melanie, it is true that the ink reappears in colder climates. I'm in Canada and it has happened to me, even in our heated home in the Winter. I use it in ways like the ones you mentioned now. Works well. :)

Hi Melanie, Can you let me know the best way to clean off my cutting mat. I have tried all sorts, but no luck. My cutting lines are very clogged with fluff etc.. As a result, it will not cut clean lines anymore. Thank you. Maggie

I have heard somewhere on youtube that after washing the quilt the marks are gone forever, even in the cold! Hope this helps :)

What kind of marking tool can you use on the right side of fabric, that won't show? I'm marking on flannel, chalk doesn't work, tracing wheel doesnt work. Any other suggestions?

They will come back I tested by putting my fabric in freezer and it did!

It is important to remember that these pens were developed for paper, not fabric. The company makes no recommendation for use on fabric. I use it the same way Melanie does - marking cut lines. I would not use it to mark quilting lines on a quilt top.

Oh, well, yes the color comes back. I marked with pink on white fabric for our front door. After finishing, I ironed the markings away and hang it out in winter. All my markings came back. Uuhh, it was terrible!

My chalk just doesn't come out. Has anyone got any tips?

I bought these pens specifically for sewing and they worked well being removed by ironing. After a year, they no longer disappear on fabric. Anyone else have that problem?

I'm so sorry the cold spoiled your work, ladies. How weird eh? Wow. Well have y'all tried Crayola washables? Got a pack at the school supplies bins one day for a lark. To my surprise they marked fabric remarkably well then rinsed right off. Good deal! Many colored markers at Wally's for a dollar versus.one purple marker at Joann's. for $8.00.

Yes they do home back in cold temperatures. If you by mistake, remove the lines too soon you can put the project in the freezer and the lines come back lightly. I know this by experience. Happy Creating. Just read a comment about using only on paper. Who would use an iron out ink on paper? A artist. Certainly not important papers.

Don't use on dark fabric, it leaves a white ghost line!

If you wash the material in warm and/or hot water even after ironing, it WILL go away. If you need the line back, put your piece in the freezer. Under no circumstances do I recommend chalk. I have just spend weeks quilting a memorial piece for a family member and used chalk to mark the stitching lines in some places. I followed the manufacturers directions, patted the chalk off, gave it a quick brush just to be on the safe side and then washed the piece after quilting. I have about a 10" section on the quilt front where the chalk did NOT wash off. It did not come off with vinegar, lemon juice, peroxide, Bizz, shout, goo-gone, etc. I can't use bleach because the backing is batik but at this point I can't use it anyway so I might as well try a bleach pen. I could scream! GRRRrrrrrrrrrr
