I worked with a guy who was a Sky Raider pilot in Vietnam, and was awarded 9 Air Medals. The Sky Raider pilots were true heroes.

Wow, great story, love the guys in the A-1...I worked with the Sandies at NKP as a Nail FAC in the O-2a...they did not need my FAC services like the fast movers( F-4’s, 105’s, etc)...our goal was the same, stop the trucks on The Trail and SAR’s when needed...blessings to all Sandies.

Bruce and I have been close friends for quite a while. Him and I attend Oshkosh and Sun and Fun as often as we can. He bought a 172 and a 182 a few years ago. The first time he flew the182 he would enter the landing flair "a little high" so to speak. On one approach I was telling him lower, lower damnit. He said to me 'it feels lick my ass is dragging through the asphalt." He had retired from Delta a few years earlier. He is one hell of a pilot and I am proud to call him my friend. See ya'll at Sun and Fun next year. And Oshkosh too.
