We’re back in air and ready for some new adventures!
This time Maurits is in the left seat, and I get to join along as safety pilot. After Maurits completed his PPL, we decided to go on an awesome flying trip across South Africa, picking up a pretty special aircraft in Bloemfontein, and then heading up to the Gauteng Province. This is our first leg of the trip, so there’s much for to come!!

LEKKER! :) Such an over used term in South Africa, and can be used in so many ways to describe something/anything good. Very applicable to your VLOGs. Going to be flying at some of the higher altitude airports with Lanseria (HLA) at 1,372m ASL and OR Tambo (JNB) at 1,680m. Looking forward to your next VLOGS flying over our inland territories. Congrats to Mauritis on his PPL, but then again with such a lovely instructor...

Looove the “Rocket“ (this is how we call it here in France) !! It has the best power/speed/agility/useful load/price ratio - and a cooler name - compared to the 182 and the 172RG and it's really easy to fly! Good job Bambi!

Nice charming video like always. Good stuff. The 172 Rocket is a solid sky jeep. Seldom you get to see this one. Great! Please give your fiancé some more radio training and coaching. It is an advantage to get better and saver on this by time. No fault to do this. His flying was good 👍 on the sky Jeep. Keep on going. Like your videos a lot. Thanks. ☺️👍👌

Some useless trivia, IWR used to be nicknamed “Patricia” and lived at FASH (no idea where the Patricia came from). She’s a super low time Reims Rocket, and rocking a brand new paint job and interior. Kudos to the chaps at Skyhawk for helping you out with the flat!

Nice flight, too bad I haven't seen much instruments nor some performance figures for that Reims Rocket in this video. Although I even install my Ipad with Skydemon in the C172 G1000 that I rent from time to time, I only use it as an extra backup (it's not even a legal navigation aid anyway). Looking forward for the next video.

Congrats to Maurits owning a PPL now!!! So happy to see you both flying and being able to take turns legally ... so at some later point you could plan longer trips, like around the globe :-) Anyway I am glad you figured out the tire issue before destroying the rim. While looking at the footage, it seems the tire was still OK on touch down and then I guess while taxiing something got into it. I guess the repair work and parts are all covered by the rental insurance? I am not a native English speaker and "Please report crew pax onboard" at 9:56 was something I had to google ... so PAX is the short for passengers?, so she was technically just asking for POB in a very different way, or did I miss something here? Does it also say PAX in the flightplan in S.A.? One more question, what do you realistically pay as an normal student without special connections for a 152 and instructor per hour? Is there any flight school you can recommend? Have a wonderful last few weeks, collect as many hours as you can and looking forward to see more adventures with both of you soon.
