I have listened to a bunch of these 430 videos and this is by far the best. You did a great job of simplification and step by step, user friendly descriptions of each knob and it's purpose. Well done and thanks. I have learned so much.

Thank you so much for your effort. I fly an E110 for skydive ops. Sortie times are generally around 22 mins and it’s high workload so I rarely get to play with all the functions of the 530. This makes learning the system fully very difficult. Your video is a big help, thanks again and kind regards, Terry

PS another use for the OBS key for VFR pilots: nav to an airport, then OBS and spin the course to the runway heading you are going to, like 300 for rwy 31. Now you have a magenta line that aligns with the runway. This is the same as selecting an approach but easier and faster for VFR only.

Be great to have in person training on this system. I am a student pilot and I just had my solo. I need to learn how to work the Garmin 530. I do not want to be thumbs with it. PS, Nothing beats in person training. I get some idea on the on line system you tube training and downloading the manual. However, Nothing beats having someone who knows what they are doing in person. So many people say they know how to use the system and they really not very good at it.

Here I am a rusty pilot thinking of retraining. So I’m looking at these videos and am looking for how they work NAVIGATING!!! I know how GPS works as I have a handheld Garmin and understand the satellite system. The failure of videos is on how they work in the airplane is enormous. Too many videos assume you know a lot. I think Garmin has done a poor job in educating the uninformed in much detail how they work and how to operate them. They should have video CDs that you can buy and run them till you get it. Who wants to fly around trying to learn how they work spending good money on flight time when you could learn them on the ground! GAWD!

It is not possible to make a good training video in an airplane with an unstabilized camera and a hand and fingers that are constantly obscuring the Garmin while activating buttons.

I Will like to práctice the Arc dme Using the ADF, because I dont have RMI, so if I can get dme from ADF I Will do it . So I need to know how ti set dme from the ADF. Thanks un Advance
