The end of this song contains one of my favorite indie rock jokes. He sings "and I miss you, not in a Slint way, but I miss you" which is a reference to the climax of the classic Slint song Good Morning Captain where the singers screams "I miss you" several times. Laughed my ass off the first time I caught it.

I love at 2:25 seconds the song totally turns around. It totally changes the emotion of the song. Pinback is amazing.

I really like Pinback's music. In fact, I was backpacking in southwest China and I heard them in several of the places we stayed at. I guess they came over a number of years ago through other American tourists. But they are pretty popular (Especially among youth in Yunan province) over there. Being from San Diego, there's also a special connection there as well.

Yeah me too actually. I do a few metal(core) covers on this channel. But yeah I love to see indie rock bands becoming more experimental like that. Pinback is awesome.

Ok, honestly, i was only making a point about musical talents. someone made a comment earlier about this band being one of the most musically talented bands ever. I play multiple instruments and can honestly say that these guys are simple, and there music leaves something to be desired. they are ofcourse, not shitty. but they resemble the many petty bands we have nowadays in the US.

PS petty mainstream bands won't sound like this - lowest common denominator makes the mainstream. If people don't understand it they typically don't give it the time. Odd time signatures is a good way to accomplish that, but thank God for bands like this one that keep making good music despite that.

actually, I have to argue. First, there is no such thing as 5/7... unless you would argue irrational meter... however, there is no such thing as a 7th note. The song Bloods on Fire is in 7/4 for the verses, and 3/4 for the chorus.
