Pineapple Tarts 黄梨酥 | Chinese New Year Goodies | 新年必备糕点黄梨挞 | How to make Pineapple Tarts 黃梨酥食譜
Hey everyone, welcome back to G8tromania. As part of our 2022 CNY series, we are going to introduce our recipe for Pineapple tarts today! In Hokkien, Pineapple is pronounced as Ong-Lye, which sounds like Wang-Lai, representing good luck for the coming year.
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
360g top flour
250g butter (room temperature)
20g milk powder for baking
15g custard powder
40g icing sugar
2 egg yolks
500g pineapple paste filling
Steps:
1. Mix butter, sugar and egg yolks together
2. Mix in the top flour.
3. Add custard powder and milk powder and mix together.
4. Knead Dough and rest for 30 mins.
5. Roll pineapple filling into 10g balls.
6. Roll skin to 12g balls.
7. Flatten skin, put in filling and shape into ball.
8. Set on baking tray and apply egg wash (1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp vegetable oil)
9. Oven bake 180 degree Celsius for 9 mins.
10. Apply another layer of egg wash and oven bake 9 mins at 180 degree Celsius.
11. Cool down before serving.
