My brother saw them on this concert-tour, and he said that when the whole, guitar-solo started - and the light-show go off - people just stood like frozen, mesmerized , just looking...and listening. Besides the music playing it was silent - the whole crowd was just silent. (like they were trying to memorize everything from this this moment so they would never forget it...ever.) He said it was almost like a divine revelation of sound & vision. And after the end-crescendo of the song the whole crowd went fuckin mental, just screaming, applauding, jumping around, laughing, stood up in their seats, cheering - and many people were even crying. It IS the worlds best guitar-solo, ever...without a doubt...without competition. I just wish I could have seen it myself, live. But at least we have this live-show to watch.

I certainly agree with the "divine revelation" thing. I've seen Gilmour three times, and witnessed Comfortably Numb twice (sadly, never as Pink Floyd, but his solo stuff is almost as good!). It is almost a spiritual experience! The atmosphere in the Royal Albert Hall was incredible.

@@Forwhomthebelltolls24 whats wrong with slash? Slash is actually much like david he too expresses his emotions through his guitar. Slash has created many memorable solos with gnr. His solo in sweet child o'mine and November rain is right there as one of the best solos of all time. There's nothing wrong his image because he mix it with great talent. You want someone that "needs an image to sound descent"? Try buckethead. Lol. Slash is one of those guys dude, gilmour, gary moore, slash, those guys has that thing where they make connections through their solos they dont even need any of those sweep picking or shredding to show off their skills. They do can express things in like 2-3 notes what other guitarist cant even express in one song.

Kristofer Ramirez So you’re saying Slash is a better guitarist than Buckethead? I beg to disagree very very strongly...sure Buckethead has released some absolutely crazy stuff (in a bad way), but he’s probably the most versatile guitar player around ( almost at the same level of Satriani or Malmsteen ) around. I love Appetite for destruction, sure it’s a legendary album and Slash is one of the most influential guitar player, but come n man!! Buckethead is a crazy genius!! Nothing is wrong with Slash...but he probably spend a little too much in front of the mirror... listen to Big Sur Moon if you haven't already and honestly tell me, if Slash (or anyone) can come up with something like that!! Yes, I would agree that entire KFC bucket thing is gimmicky.. but man...that guy is genuinely insane

@@Forwhomthebelltolls24 in my ears slash is way better than buckethead. Why? Because with buckethead its all technical. But with slash i can understand his solo. It speaks to me. Buckethead can shred crazy fast notes in one song but even when the song is done i cant still understand what he really is trying to express. While with slash, he can just bend 2 notes and i get it already. i dont expect you to understand cause not alot of people gets slash's solo. Cause people always say slash is trash cause he doesn't play fast riffs or solos. But the truth is they just dont get it.

I remember standing looking up at the centre piece hanging over the crowd as the lights & lasers hit the egg shaped mirror ball as it unfolded and spread a million beams of light around the arena..a truly spiritual moment for me. Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My friends and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.

David Gilmour has lots of solos you're going to love. I love it when he mimics the guitar with his voice...or vice versa. Please consider doing the Live at Pompeii video. Basically, they play a concert in the ruin of a Roman amphitheater...with no audience. It's about an hour long. It was in '71 when they were long-haired and baby-faced. Amazing footage and studio-quality sound.

A very good friend of mine who was stuck in a wheel chair with multiple sclerosis asked me if I wanted to go and see Pink Floyd. I said yes naturally. This was in 1994 at this very concert. We were in the special section down the front on the left hand side. At the beginning of the concert, David Gilmour asked everyone to remain seated and just listen to the music. My friend's son came with us. He had never seen a live band before being only 15. After the first song had finished, I turned to him and his mouth was wide open. He was absolutely amazed. As "Comfortably numb" was playing I had the experience where nothing else existed accept this music. I was completely part of it. I have been to see many live bands and have only experienced the same thing on one other occasion which was Eric Clapton playing an extended version of old love at Hyde Park, also in London but outside. This is art. Your reactions took me back there. Thankyou

Kirk in ''Fade to black'' takes us close to the black hole in the center of the galaxy. But be careful, he has a lot of support from Hetfield and Trujillo in the peak of the room. Of course, Metallica likes to rub up against black holes. David Gilmour has no need for this support in Comfortably Numb. Why? Because it makes us realize the beauty of galaxy harmony. This universe, which despite the black holes, makes us all gravitate in an immense and colossal harmony; so much greater than the simple human nature. There's one another aspect you need to realize. Pink Floyd was founded in the late 1960s. It was the wave of the: ''Yeah. . . Yeah. . . Yeah'' of the Beatles. British like them, but they come with this music straight out of another world; a kind of angelic world. In conclusion, they are also the inventors of this kind of large-scale show. Before, it was practically just the scene, some basic lighting effects and that was it. Ask yourself this question? Could Metallica have been born without them? Honestly, I'm not sure. Finally do you know how old Kirk Hammett was when Pink Floyd was recorded in Pompeii? He was 10 years old. I strongly recommend you to listen this movie on KZfaq '' Pink Floyd Pompeii''. . . Phew!. . . . They were already occupying a galaxy from the Big Bang. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r5N1asKHrbLam3k.html (part 1) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pp5pnqShmdjecnk.html (part 2)

This particular video was created in 2009, but all of the concert footage and audio is from Pink Floyd's 1994 live concert video "P.U.L.S.E." It was filmed at Earl's Court, London during their "The Division Bell" tour. I was fortunate enough to attend the June 28, 1994 date in Edmonton, Alberta. To date, I've been to over 140 concerts in my life, but this was the best one by far. Second place and a couple of galaxies down, would be one of the three Supertramp concerts that I attended during the late 1970s.

I love watching you guys, but I've noticed something over and over. It's not a bad thing. It's just a thing. I think on a lot of these reaction songs (especially this one), Sori gets it. She appreciates it. But it's at a base level to the tune of "Well, that was really nice" or "Wow, that was good!". But then Vin is a different story. Music infects him. It permeates into him and becomes a part of him, if only for the performance. It's different. My wife and I are the same way. I can get her to appreciate a song, but that same song takes on so much more to me. I don't just hear the notes, but I feel the notes. I live the notes. For that 4, 6 or 10 minutes, I become the song. I get chills every time I listen to this. I think David Gilmore is a genius guitar player, and as noted, it's not for the complexity, but it's because of the emotion that is released. And that's why I feel it. And I really wish others have the ability to feel it too.

Glad I came across this. Loved the reaction from the both of you. Vin, you asked "what the hell?" during the 2nd solo? I'll tell you what the hell...watching you and your reaction, I could tell at that point that for maybe the first time ever, you went from hearing, to listening and entered the next dimension known as feeling the music. There is such a natural emotional rush when you feel the music because it becomes a part of you. When you let go and allow yourself to feel the music, it's like nothing else. The thing is, not all music will do this to you. Everything has to come together to create that experience and when it happens, you're forever changed. Sori can tell you all about it. I've seen a number of the reactions the two of you when she's been feeling it.

I was front row center on a stop along this tour, and let me tell you...Pink Floyd is the very best you will ever see. They transcend music for me.They are more of a thread of hope going on through the decades, showing us this is how beautiful we can be.Whenever I lose my faith in mankind, this band restores it every time without fail.I heard you mention other bands in the same breath as Pink Floyd.I personally wouldn't do that.Tool I don't get it,Metallica on the other hand I love. They are one of the best at what they do,but they aren't virtuoso players, and they don't transcend just a band playing a song.Coming from someone with 30 plus years of guitar playing,Kirk Hammett is nowhere close to David Gilmour.Dave is the most expressive guitarist in the history of recorded music.Kirk had speed, but that leaves you.Dave's still doing this up there in years
