I remember during the late 70s, summer, early Saturday morning, my friends would show up. I'd be sleeping in the living room on the floor. They come in, plant themselves on the sofa and chair. I would put on Pink Floyd, this album and turn it down and we would just lay there, eyes closed and drift into our own little world. No words would be said. We would just soak in Pink Floyd and space out....lol. Sure miss those days. My mom would even know what was up when my bros showed up Saturday morning. :) Love Pink Floyd.

I still have memories as a teen listening to this with my friend with our eyes closed enjoying the stereo etc... it almost took you on a journey, no drugs required.

AudioPhil Did you know it's the sound of the micro dirt that makes me nostalgic for my Pioneer 3 in one, can't remember the name of the arm, but the sound of the crackle of the micro dirt takes me back to South port on the Gold coast in Queensland hearing this album for the very first time. It's December 73 I'm 12 years old and staying with friends, cane toads in the backyard the sound of mosquitoes wining, on a mattress on the floor while my mate who at 16 has become a concreter's labourer is spending the cash earned building a skyrise, on this album. It's Dark, except for the light from the turntable and I am being introduced to the most surreal sound I have heard. Brother you took me all the way back to the very first time. Thank you.

First listen was 1975 in a friend’s 16ft travel trailer dedicated to a Pioneer Quad unit, sitting in the middle listening space. Also happened to be the first time smoking the “herb”. The sounds coming from the four speakers was almost scary. Honestly, the most memorable music experience in my life. Sensory overload to say the least. Kinda wish I had listened without the brain adjustment, but you can only have your first DSOTM once. Rock on!

First discovered Pink Floyd somewhere around the time Momentary Lapse came out…Back then, it was all about the new wave of ultra-clear digital remasters of Dark Side on CD (The Gold Disc!). To hear an audiophile-quality rip of a really good quality, ORIGINAL PRESSING of Dark Side is nothing short of a revelation. All those digital remasters arguably have more clarity and detail - but they’re missing ALL of the warmth so well presented here. This is AWESOME.

i have an new 180 gram pressing of this record. Used to have an 1970´s pressing before that was horrible out of center. But around 2019 i bought the 180 repressing.

Remember listening to this on my dad's Dual 1212. For me the watershed year in music is 1967-69, the beginnings of modern rock with albums like the 1st Led Zepplin record. You can take a young person today who's never heard it, play it and ask them when it was made. They might pick any year up until today; it still sounds contemporary and could have been written last year and be accepted as contemporary music. Play a song from 1965 however, and it's obvious it's a song from the 60s.
